    Warm caring community, safety concerns

I've been here for years and really appreciate the warm, caring staff, homey rooms, coastal views, regular outings and genuine sense of community. The small, one-floor facility is generally clean, COVID-free, accepts private and public pay, and offers all-inclusive pricing. That said, staff turnover and short-staffing have reduced activities and sometimes affected care - I've personally seen missed meds, medication mix-ups, delayed call-pendant responses and a fall. Management communication, billing and refunds can be opaque and there are concerns about steep refundable deposits and occasional deceptive practices. Meals are often home-cooked and loved by many, but kitchen turnover and budget cuts have made food inconsistent. Overall the caring core staff and atmosphere are big positives, but verify safety, med management and contract/billing details before you commit.

The apartments and suites are spacious and come with choices for one or two bedrooms, kitchenettes, private bathrooms, patios or balconies, extra storage, and there's an emergency call system for peace of mind, plus cable and internet for residents who want those comforts. Meal services bring fresh, tasty food daily in a well-lit dining room with light wood tables and hardwood floors, and people can enjoy their meals together in a friendly, family-style way, which residents and their families really like. A full slate of daily activities, outings, and themed events led by an activities director keeps everyone moving and offers many chances for socializing, while the community also features a movie theater, library, residents' lounge, and meditation or worship areas for those who want a quieter moment. Staff here commit to personalized attention-helping with daily tasks like meals, self-care, and housekeeping-but also encourage everyone to stay as independent as possible, making adjustments as needs change over time, and trained staff members provide extra support for people with memory loss, Alzheimer's, or other dementia, and there's physical and speech therapy available on site. Magnolia Manor Assisted Living gives respite care in a private suite for folks needing short-term stays and gives families a break, and it has a family-style approach, treating everyone with warmth and kindness, in a place people describe as caring and welcoming. Other amenities include transportation, laundry, beauty and barber services, housekeeping, medication help, and everything's in a setting designed so residents and visitors can get around easily, with well-kept outdoor and indoor spaces for relaxing or visiting. The team responds quickly to questions, offers tours and information sessions, and keeps a gallery for people wanting to see more about the community and their offerings. Magnolia Manor has a Christian atmosphere, an active social calendar, and works hard to support older adults, whether someone needs a bit of help each day or more steady care for changing health needs, and the facility is licensed under AL8869 and holds a 4.0 rating from reviews by residents and families who appreciate the comfort, compassion, and personalized attention found here.
