    Generally positive with some inconsistencies

I'm generally reassured by the facility: it's clean, well-kept and home-like, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, and rehab/medical care and medication timing have been good. The community is warm and faith-based with many activities and a full continuum of care in a convenient location. My concerns are inconsistent rules/PPE, uneven food quality and weekend staffing, and limited outdoor seating/facilities. Overall I feel my loved one is safe and cared for, but management and dining could be more consistent.

    About Alliance Community

Alliance Community in DeLand, Florida has been around since 1968 and serves about 275 residents between its independent living, assisted living, and health care facilities, with a focus on promoting Christian fellowship and ministry and a family-style of care for everyone who lives there, and you'll find people can bring their own furniture, hang up pictures, and decorate their places how they like, whether they choose a private home, duplex, triplex, or apartment, all of which are maintained by a full-time maintenance crew who handle repairs, broken items, and even help with hanging those pictures. The grounds always look nice because the facility has people full-time who handle lawn care, landscaping, and irrigation, and for safety, every home has an Emergency Response System along with security alarm systems that monitored by patrol officers from a Public Safety Department that's around all day and all night, and besides that there's a 24-hour emergency call system in the residences and an in-home alarm system monitored by actual security staff. Alliance Community gives people a maintenance-free way of living, with meals provided three times daily through Any Time Dining in a dining hall, weekly housekeeping, bed making, linen and towel service, and all utilities except for phone and internet included in private homes with private bathrooms, and for residents who need help, staff are there 24/7 to assist with things like dressing, grooming, bathing, walking, medication, and even just getting around. Alliance covers a broad range of care, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, sub-acute care, dementia care, and Alzheimer's care, all within its on-site Health Care Center which houses over 130 beds and offers skilled nursing, rehabilitation, stroke recovery, pain management, surgeries, cardiac care, outpatient care, along with physical, speech, and occupational therapies, and people with memory issues get specialized programs and supervision. There's a focus on giving residents a sense of community with a chapel right in the center for devotional activities, plus a full calendar of recreation, wellness, spiritual programs, group excursions, and off-campus trips handled by transportation staff using a bus and a van, and for those who want it, they even offer financial services like bill paying and planning to make things less stressful. The campus keeps things safe and supportive and if someone's health changes, they're guaranteed a spot in the assisted living or skilled nursing sections if needed, and the life-care program with a life-lease on homes and one all-inclusive fee for services is there to help people plan ahead, ease some worry about the future, and support independence with dignity. People who are thinking about moving in can ask for a tour, eat a meal, meet current residents, and see for themselves how it feels, and the place carries a 3.5-star rating with 13 reviews, so it's not perfect but it's got a lot of folks working hard to help seniors with what they need. Amenities include a dining hall, chapel, clubhouse, gym, weekly programs, comfortable, well-kept living spaces, and grounds, plus help with transportation for appointments, shopping, and other outings, so residents don't feel stuck. Everything runs during weekday business hours in the offices from 8:30 to 4:30, but direct care and emergency systems are always available, and the community stays committed to helping people live with purpose and comfort, with attention to both physical and spiritual needs, and people are invited to explore more on their website, alliancecommunity.org, to learn about accommodations, activities, and the support they might find here.
