    Beautiful campus, excellent services-verify nursing

I've spent time on this large, beautifully maintained campus and love the grounds, ponds, indoor/outdoor pools, walking paths and bright, clean rooms (many with patios). The staff are warm, friendly and long-tenured; the Wellness Center, on-campus therapy/physicians and rehab services are excellent and the dining/meal delivery and transportation are convenient. It is expensive and space is limited. I heard mixed reports about nursing consistency and leadership-many praise compassionate, attentive care, while some families reported serious hygiene and isolation issues during COVID. Overall I think it's a top-notch option for rehab and active seniors, but verify nursing quality, infection/visitor policies and room availability before committing.

    About Presbyterian Village

Presbyterian Village sits on a 60-acre campus in Cobb County, Georgia, and you can take a tour to see for yourself what daily life is like, meet staff, and talk with residents, which is a good way to get a sense of things before deciding. The campus holds independent living cottages, cluster homes with about 1,264 square feet of space, and apartments in studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom layouts, and there are also shared neighborhood homes where people can get help from live-in caregivers if needed. All kinds of care are on site, from simple home care visits with trained aides, to assisted living, to skilled nursing, to memory care for Alzheimer's disease or other kinds of dementia in a secure 30-bed unit that tries to reduce confusion and wandering, so people don't have to leave the campus if their needs change. The nursing staff includes a nurse who works part-time and another who's available 24 hours a day, and there's a full range of therapies-physical, occupational, and speech-for rehabilitation, along with on-site primary and long-term care. Wellness programs include aerobics, stretching, Tai Chi, and a big fitness center over 7,500 square feet with a heated indoor pool, whirlpool, massage room, walking and jogging trails, and tennis courts, along with activity rooms like libraries, arts and crafts rooms, and a courtyard for sitting outside among the trees and birds, since the campus is also an Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary. Dining options are included, with chef-prepared meals in a dining room, and meals you can get delivered or take to go, and there are places for overnight guests when family or friends visit. People can bring pets, and there are rules about where they can go, but pets are allowed, which means a lot to many. Amenities include a pharmacy, transportation, postal center, hair salon, and 24-hour security, plus services like housekeeping and laundry, and help with bathing, dressing, and taking medicine is available. Presbyterian Village also shares resources for aging, affordable housing, and dementia; it provides the POAMN Older Adult Ministry Guide and is part of Presbyterian Homes of Georgia, so it's tied to Presbyterian associations and services. The facility stays busy with spiritual, physical, and social programs, and the staff has experience with older adults' needs. Presbyterian Village has earned a reputation for quality residential care, and New Choices magazine once named it among the 20 best continuing care retirement communities in America. Conservation efforts are in place to protect the grounds, and the whole place is set up to help seniors live as independently and safely as possible, with the care and support they might need, and whether someone just wants a maintenance-free lifestyle or needs more help, there's a home or apartment and some support here.
