    Bright facilities, welcoming community, verify

I toured here and loved the bright, well-kept grounds, clean and spacious apartments, delicious dining (professional chefs), plentiful activities, pool, gyms and therapy areas - it really felt like home and I would move in. Staff are mostly friendly, empathetic and long-tenured; the salon, library, store, transportation and resident-led community add to a warm, active atmosphere. It's independent living only now (not suitable for someone who needs hands-on care); assisted living is planned in 12-18 months and extended care has a nurse on duty. Cost was upfront about $120,000 for a 1-BR, $140,000 for a 2-BR with monthly fees around $3,800 and asset-transfer requirements. That said, I noted some concerning reports - occasional rude or inconsistent staff, long waits on tours, and at least one alleged mishandling/infection-control issue tied to camera outages - so I'd recommend confirming current staffing and safety practices before committing. Overall excellent facilities and community, but verify care quality if that's a priority.

    About ClarkLindsey

ClarkLindsey sits at 101 W. Windsor Rd. in Urbana, IL, as a single-story senior living community that's been serving folks over 55 for more than 25 years with a big focus on care and dignity, and if someone's got a dog or cat, they can bring them along since this place is pet-friendly, and you see, the whole campus is full of common indoor spaces and areas for social activities, so people spend time together, whether in The Village Apartments, Meadow Edge Villas, or they're looking forward to the new condo-style expansion with its contemporary apartments and a wellness center. Residents can pick from different levels of care, including independent living for those who want freedom and a low-maintenance way of life, assisted living when someone needs help with things like dressing and bathing, memory care designed especially for people with Alzheimer's or dementia-a program that tries hard to reduce confusion and keep folks safe-and skilled nursing for both short- and long-term needs, all of which come with trained, friendly staff on hand day and night, plus specialized therapies in a modern gym, occupational suite, or even on a nature walk. ClarkLindsey has private rooms available, including the Green House Homes, where each of the twelve folks gets their own room and bath and they all use a big open kitchen to make the place feel homey, and over at Meadowbrook Health Center, residents get skilled nursing services, respite care, and all kinds of support, along with Medicare-certified private rooms with flat screen TVs and private bathrooms. Staff provide plenty of help for people who need support moving around, whether that's standing by for transfers, assisting from bed to wheelchair, or helping those with limited mobility, and they closely watch people who have diabetes, though they can't give out insulin shots but can help check blood sugar. ClarkLindsey offers home care services, including licensed atHome Home Care for non-medical help and companionship, and assisted living is available both in apartments and the Green House Homes, which brings a choice for people who like a smaller setting. Folks who need incontinence care are asked to manage it themselves, but staff will offer monitoring and reminders. They've got a full calendar of activities, from happy hour to devotional groups and fitness classes, swimming in a heated pool, social meals (with a restaurant run as a private club at Clark-Lindsey Village), and walking outdoor paths so everyone can stay active, and there's even a support group for caregivers called Caregiver Circle. Housekeeping, meals, scheduled transportation, and telehealth are part of everyday life, all managed by a team that aims to make everyone feel at home and included, and the community's won recognition for its friendly atmosphere, good activities, and high-quality care. Office hours run Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and staff is always around, but the facility isn't accredited by any official accreditation body. ClarkLindsey also helps with insurance questions, like working with Medicare and Health Alliance, and they form care plans with each resident and their family to make sure needs and wishes are met, whether that's aging in place, daily living help, memory support, or therapy and rehabilitation.
