The Meadows sits close to hospitals, pharmacies, and churches in Burlington, Kansas, so residents find medical help, prescriptions, and community support without a long drive, and with 34 total units, including single rooms and two-bedroom apartments, the place stays small enough for folks to know each other but big enough for activities and care, and those rooms come with kitchenettes or full kitchens, housekeeping, maintenance, emergency call systems, cable TV, utilities included, phones, and even furnishings, which makes settling in a little easier. People who live here get assisted living services if they need help with things like bathing, dressing, or medication, and for those needing extra care, there's nursing care, help with wound care, medication support, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, and if someone has diabetes, there are diabetic-friendly meals. There's memory care for seniors with Alzheimer's or other dementia, where staff work to lower confusion and keep folks safe from wandering, and independent living suits healthy, active seniors after less hassle who want to join group activities or just relax in the gardens, on the walking paths, or in outdoor patios. The place offers personal care, family outreach and education, and the Long-Term Care Ombudsman visits residents to help with any problems, plus local groups like the Department of Aging or Veteran's Services handle surveys. Every unit includes an emergency alert system, and there are staff on-site day and night, so someone's always around if help's needed, and there's free transportation for shopping, offsite events, or doctor visits, plus on-site and guest parking. Folks enjoy three daily meals in a dining room or the on-site restaurant, and people can have guests join for mealtime, or even share home-cooked meals, and special diets are accommodated, so people with restrictions can still eat with everyone. The community has a recreation room, a salon and barbershop, WiFi, arts and movie nights, and gardening spots, and indoor common areas give everyone a place to visit or relax if the weather's not good. Staff help with bathing, dressing, laundry, cleaning, and transportation, and they coordinate with healthcare providers for residents' needs. People can join in social gatherings, health programs, and offsite field trips, so there's always something to do, whether someone loves to be out and about, or just wants to spend time with neighbors who've become friends, and the staff have a reputation for being helpful and kind, making it feel friendly and calm. The Meadows focuses on long-term, non-acute care, so costs can be lower than a full nursing home stay, and with 26 beds set aside for assisted living, people who want retirement options or skilled nursing care can find a spot, and when the time comes, families get a little peace of mind knowing there's support, supervision, memory care, and advocacy all under one roof, and for those looking to work, there are roles like CNA, LPN/LVN, and RN open at different times, because everyone here depends on a strong team, whether living or working inside the building. People can call ahead for a tour and see for themselves if The Meadows feels like the right fit.

Spacious, caring, homelike, engaging community
I placed my father here and we’re very happy — spacious, updated apartments and a very clean, homelike facility put us at ease. The staff are caring and attentive, the dining room and food are excellent (he loves the meals and they handle dietary needs), and the activities — bingo, outings, beautician, shopping trips — keep him engaged. Good value in a convenient location, strong family involvement, and regular events (BBQ for residents and families) make it feel like home.
