    Kind staff, active welcoming community

I live here and feel well cared for by kind, responsive staff and friendly, happy residents. Chapel hymn sing-alongs, Art Is Ageless, bingo, balloon volleyball, OT/PT and small parties keep things active and welcoming. The facilities are clean, well-kept and functional in a peaceful rural setting; food can be hit-or-miss, but overall I highly recommend it for the quality care and warm atmosphere.

    About Clay Center Presbyterian Manor

Clay Center Presbyterian Manor gives seniors different levels of care, from independent living to assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, and a continuing care retirement community, so residents can move between services as their needs change. Folks who need help after surgery, illness, or a hospital stay can get skilled nursing care here, and people who need more support with medical needs can stay in private or semi-private rooms. There's a secured memory care area made for people living with dementia, where staff encourage engagement and try to keep up quality of life, with supervision always on hand. Those in assisted living or independent living get options ranging from one- and two-bedroom apartments-like Kreeck Estates Cottage or one of the Clay or Dexter Studios-to four-plex cottage apartments, each with controls for heating and air conditioning, along with cable TV and phone services. Residents have access to gardens, walking paths, movie nights, clubs, religious services, and arts rooms, with community rooms for activities or spending time together and outdoor spots for fresh air. Folks can join in on resident-run groups, volunteer work, and community-sponsored events, and there are devotional and theater gatherings too. Meals are served all day in a dining room, with special attention for diabetic and allergy needs, and staff prepare food with healthy ingredients. Medication help, transfers, bathing, dressing, and all daily needs get managed by skilled aides with nurses and 24-hour supervision. There's laundry, housekeeping, linens changed, emergency alert systems in place, and a 24-hour response team so help's never far off. For those with trouble moving around, the community supports non-ambulatory care and offers therapy rooms and even a kitchen set up so folks can practice daily living skills when recovering. Transportation and services help with trips to appointments or community outings.

On the community side, residents find plenty to do with activities indoors and out, trips, on-site barber and salon, and a chapel for spiritual needs. Clubs, organizations, and programs like Kansas LTAP or RTAP offer learning, events, and even technical help, especially with transportation or research, since the community's involved with conferences, field programs, and equipment loans. The Manor is faith-based and part of the Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America® group, built on Christian values, but open to all. Names of care units like Kreeck Estates Cottage, Crawford Suites, Dexter and East Dexter Studios, and special garden view floor plans help give each place its own feel. Whether someone just needs a little help or full-time care, the Manor supports them with personal care, secure surroundings, and chances to stay busy and make friends, and those who want to live maintenance-free find it fits that need too. Staff include licensed nurses, aides, and professionals who coordinate care and guide folks through each stage of senior life within the same campus, with safety, community, and support always a focus.
