Woodland Pond at New Paltz sits on Woodland Pond Circle in New Paltz, NY 12561, offering a calm place for seniors age 62 or older who want a mix of comfort and support among the natural beauty of the Mid-Hudson Valley, where you can often find a certain inspiration from the area's art, history, and energy. The community works as a Continuing Care Retirement Community with independent living in apartments and cottages, offering help as needed with assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and respite care, so residents can stay in one place even when their needs change over time, and the wide range of services-covering daily living and health-are included as part of the Lifecare program which means support stays comprehensive and steady. There's a health services department on site, giving different levels of care based on what each person needs, with help every day, all day and night. The place focuses on letting people make their own choices and keep their independence, yet still offers specialized care for people with memory impairments if needed. Amenities help make life comfortable, with options and features designed for the residents, and the setting feels lively because of both the nature all around and the range of programs offered. Woodland Pond at New Paltz has a virtual tour on their website for those who want to look inside before visiting, and there's a resident portal to help people stay informed and connected with their neighbors and staff. Michelle Gramoglia serves as the President if you need to know the main contact there, and people usually say the community helps them feel confident about their future living needs.

Beautiful facility, excellent care, pricey
I live here and overall I'm pleased: beautiful, very clean facility with stunning mountain views and well-kept grounds. The staff are overwhelmingly friendly, caring, and often go out of their way - nurses, rehab/PT, and the social worker are excellent. Amenities are superb (pool, salon, movie and art rooms, on-site rehab/health center, bus service) and there are plenty of activities. Studios and apartments are roomy with private baths, walk-in closets and sometimes full kitchens; the community feels active and safe. Downsides: it's expensive with a high buy-in and rising fees, assisted-living dining has had problems (cold/microwave meals, COVID tray service), and there are occasional staffing turnover, slow maintenance, and unresponsive administration/concierge. Value is mixed - great care, rehab, and social life if you can afford it.
