    Friendly staff, excellent facilities, recommended

I toured and now live here - overall I'm very pleased. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating, the building is clean, modern and well-kept with lots of amenities (exercise room, pool, barber, library, walking paths) and a full dining program plus many activities (bingo, parties, exercise classes, shopping trips). Apartments are good value and comfortable (studio to two-bed options), though some units are smaller, remodeling/maintenance issues pop up and food gets mixed reviews. In short: great staff, great facilities and community feel - I'd recommend it.

About Hefner Mansions Senior Independent Living

Hefner Mansions Senior Independent Living sits over on West Hefner Road in Oklahoma City, right near Lake Hefner and some nice parks, so folks can take walks or just enjoy looking at the water and trees, and if you go down the road a bit there are all kinds of restaurants, shops, medical offices, and even some specialty places like the Oklahoma Heart Hospital all within a quick drive, so everything you need isn't far. The place itself is all about making life easier for older adults who want to live on their own but have some extra help, like they've got someone handling the housekeeping and maintenance, and the apartments come in one or two-bedroom layouts with their own washers and dryers, private bathrooms, kitchens, patios, and even high-speed internet and cable, so you don't have to worry about missing any comforts from home. The apartments are all freshly painted and re-carpeted before new folks move in, too, which keeps things nice.

There's a big focus on staying active and connected with daily activities, game rooms, an arts room, a library, a media room, and even things like movie nights, music programs, and walking paths for outdoor time, plus there's a wellness center, fitness room, and a spa if you want to unwind, and friendly neighbors all around. Meals come with the rent and they serve three a day, restaurant-style, with food choices that fit all kinds of diets, and if you need a ride somewhere, they've got transportation and parking, so getting out to the store, a doctor, or church is easy. Pets are allowed, as long as they're small and well-behaved, so you don't have to give up your companion animal, and there are even garden spaces where you can sit or visit with friends outside.

Safety and peace of mind are taken care of with 24-hour staff, a call system in every apartment, and medication management, plus help with things like getting around or reminders for daily needs if you need it, though it's set up mostly for people who want independent living, not nursing care, though some assistance is available as needed. The place runs regular community and resident-led events, so there's always something to do or people to talk with, and you can choose to join in as much or as little as you like, which makes it a welcoming spot for folks who like having options. The building is newly renovated, designed to be comfortable and easy to get around, though not every space might work as well for someone who needs lots of accessibility supports, which is worth thinking about.

The apartments tend to be larger than at many places, with the added bonus of in-unit washers and dryers and full kitchens, and you get all the bills and services wrapped into one payment, though you'll need to ask for exact prices, as they don't list them publicly. Hefner Mansions has a strong record of happy residents, showing on recent verified reviews, and it's known for a relaxed community feel, helpful staff, and a worry-free lifestyle. It's a spot for seniors who want to keep their independence but like having the company of others and some extras to make life simpler, all while staying close to the things in Oklahoma City that matter most-family, doctors, and favorite places to go.
