About Rose Villa Senior Living Community

Rose Villa Senior Living Community is a nonprofit, single-site Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), also known as a Life Plan Community, dedicated to redefining the traditional approach to senior living. Since its founding in 1960, Rose Villa has continually evolved, maintaining a vibrant, inclusive philosophy centered on enriching the lives of not just its residents, but the broader community as well. The essence of Rose Villa is captured in its commitment to community, prioritizing connection, engagement, and mutual support as critical elements for living well and aging with dignity.

The campus at Rose Villa is thoughtfully designed to evoke a sense of neighborhood and urban vitality while offering a variety of living options tailored to individual preferences and needs. One of the standout features is the Schroeder Lofts, which draw inspiration from adaptive reuse urban street lofts in Portland’s Pearl District. These four-and-a-half-story loft apartments form a continuation of Main Street in the urban hub of the campus. The building integrates life at street level with amenities such as a clinic, a resident community room, and the Treasure House resale shop—all fostering a lively, pedestrian-friendly environment. Apartments within Schroeder Lofts range from spacious one-bedroom studios of approximately 988 square feet to premium 1,790-square-foot vista units. Each residence is enhanced with tall ceilings, large operable windows, and covered three-season decks, all designed to flood the interiors with natural light and offer comfortable, modern urban living. Underground parking with approximately 44 spaces is available exclusively to loft residents, ensuring convenience and security.

Further exemplifying Rose Villa’s progressive approach, the Trillium Townhomes represent the community’s second Zero Energy neighborhood, underscoring a deep commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly design. Trillium consists of six industrial-inspired multifamily row homes purpose-built for independent living. These homes open onto a permaculture-inspired courtyard planted with native species and accessible pathways, seamlessly blending natural beauty with functionality. Double-height, light-filled great rooms provide an ‘urban loft’ ambiance, while bedrooms and bathrooms on both floors accommodate flexible arrangements for aging in place. The exteriors, clad in brick with metal awnings above private outdoor balconies, reflect the character of converted industrial buildings and row homes reminiscent of Portland’s riverside neighborhoods.

For those requiring more comprehensive care, Madrona Grove offers both long-term residential and short-term recuperative stays under the dedicated attention of licensed nurses and nursing assistants, available around the clock. Madrona Grove is designed to resemble a large, comfortable farmhouse, fostering a warm, homelike atmosphere. It accommodates 32 residents, each with a private room, full bath, and kitchenette, allowing ample scope for individual personalization. The Madrona Grove neighborhood is thoughtfully divided into two households of sixteen residents, promoting a sense of community as residents live, dine, cook, and engage in activities together while retaining the privacy of their own spaces. Importantly, independent living residents at Rose Villa benefit from five days per year in Madrona Grove at no additional charge when physician-ordered 24-hour care is required; this benefit renews annually, further supporting resident well-being and peace of mind.

Throughout all its neighborhoods—including Classic Cottages, Pocket Cottages, Main Street Apartments, North Pocket Cottages, Garden Grove, The Oaks, Schroeder Lofts, Trillium Townhomes, and Madrona Grove—Rose Villa fosters a vibrant lifestyle. Residents can take advantage of industry-leading services tailored to their needs, participate in a wide variety of programs, and build meaningful connections with interesting people. The spirit of Rose Villa is one of continuous growth, innovation, and heartfelt care, ensuring that life truly blossoms at every stage.
