    Immaculate campus, pricey but reassuring

I live here and love the beautiful, immaculate campus - the food is top-quality, staff are generally warm and helpful, and the full slate of amenities, on-site healthcare, transportation, housekeeping and activities have given me real peace of mind and new friends. The life-care model and attentive programming make daily life easy and reassuring. It is very expensive (steep buy-in and high monthly fees - commonly cited around $10k/month), and there are troubling, repeated reports of inconsistent staffing, medication/billing problems and uneven quality in some assisted/memory areas. Overall I recommend it for independent living but advise anyone to review contracts, staffing/medical protocols and assisted-care capacity carefully before committing.

    About The Heritage at Brentwood

The Heritage at Brentwood sits on 48 acres in Brentwood, Tennessee, and offers a wide range of living options for older adults, ranging from independent living in villas or apartments to assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and memory care, all managed by Life Care Services®, an LCS® Company. Residents can choose from more than 20 different floor plans, including stand-alone villas, garden villas, and apartment homes with options for private balconies, patios, and kitchenettes. The Somerfield Health Center, right on campus, provides both short- and long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and specialized memory care through the Heartfelt CONNECTIONS - A Memory Care Program®, so there's support for changes in health over time. The Return-of-Capital® Plan helps residents preserve part of their estate, and The Heritage is the only Type A LifeCare® community in Williamson County, guaranteeing unlimited days of long-term care for those who need it.

The Heritage features both interior and exterior amenities, with places to gather like community halls, lounges, a large auditorium, a library, and several outdoor common areas including courtyards, a pond, and walking trails that connect to the city's trail system. There's an emphasis on healthy and active living, supported by wellness programs in the HealthyLife® Center, which has a heated indoor pool, a 24/7 fitness center, group exercise rooms, and certified trainers who lead classes in yoga, tai chi, and other activities. For time outdoors, residents have access to putting greens, a bocce ball court, badminton, scenic trails, and gardens where they can tend plants or simply enjoy the views of wooded hills.

Dining is available all day at the Fireside Grille restaurant with chef-prepared, nutritious meals served in several places, including a bar, café, bistro, or private dining room, and residents can cook in their own homes too. Housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and transportation services are available, along with secure underground parking, and a pet-friendly policy allows cats and dogs in the community. Health care services on campus include nurses on staff, therapy for physical, occupational, and speech needs, diabetic care, incontinence care, non-ambulatory care, and homecare provided by trained aides. Doctors, dentists, podiatrists, and nurses are all available either onsite or on call, and hospice services are available if needed.

Residents at The Heritage can take part in a full calendar of on-site and off-site activities. These include discussion groups, art classes, gardening, book clubs, devotions, and outings to arts venues like the Nashville Symphony, with resident committees helping shape the programs. The community includes a putting green, resident parking, complimentary transportation, a beauty salon, and a day spa with massage rooms. There's an emphasis on engaging social, cultural, educational, and recreational opportunities, with the aim to help residents stay engaged, independent, and connected with neighbors from many backgrounds, including former doctors, teachers, leaders, gardeners, and travelers. Resident surveys and ongoing staff training help ensure changing needs are met, and there's a focus on real choice, flexibility, and respect for each person's lifestyle. Entrance fees and detailed information about pricing, reviews, and frequently asked questions are all available, so people interested in The Heritage can make well-informed decisions.
