    About Webb House Retirement Center

Webb House Retirement Center sits over there on a nice, neat piece of ground, calling itself a retirement center and sticking to its purpose, which is to give seniors different living and care choices all in one place, from independent living if folks feel pretty well and want to handle their days mostly alone-where they get things like a beauty salon, computer center, gardens, a small library, and even a gaming room-to more help in the assisted living suites, which offer support with things like bathing, dressing, eating, and medication supervision for over 35 people in those set-up rooms. They also have nursing home care with round-the-clock nurses giving medical attention, helping with wound care, and handling pretty serious needs when health gets shaky, plus a memory care community where they put together special memory-enhancing programs for people who might be getting forgetful, all under the same roof, so nobody's forced to pick up and move somewhere else as times change. Residents can move between care levels as their needs change, and staff try to keep a family feeling, which goes back to when Alan Webb the licensed pharmacist and his wife Lora founded the place in 1988, wanting to bring professional care with warmth and a personal touch. There's a focus on sobriety, too, since they work with Sober Living Services, but there's been trouble with some staff not always handling things right-one staff member's been caught high in the middle of the night, and there's talk about the place not addressing drug issues as well as it should. Still, services run 24/7, meals come from staff dieticians every day, transportation's available through the community van or by arranging rides, and help with laundry, wellness checks, and activities keeps people busy, whether that's organized religious services, social gatherings, or recreational programs, plus respite care when a primary caregiver needs a break. Prices start at $5,384 a month, and over the years, the place has built a reputation for steady health care, with staff trying hard to treat folks with dignity, allowing residents to keep some independence for as long as they can while getting support when they need it.
