    Beautiful facility, dangerous inconsistent care

I placed a loved one here and the facility itself is beautiful, active, and well-run on the surface - great activities, meals (when not changed), nice rooms, and many genuinely caring CNAs and nurses. But my experience was marred by wildly inconsistent care: understaffing, high turnover, medication delays, poor hospice coordination, billing/refund disputes, and at least one serious neglect incident that almost cost a life. Management felt profit-driven and defensive - exorbitant pricing, opaque charges, slow refunds, alleged financial mismanagement, and discriminatory/condescending behavior from leadership. Some staff are compassionate and attentive, but others are untrained, rude, or dishonest; communication is unreliable. I can't recommend this place without major accountability and a leadership overhaul - be very cautious if you're considering it.

    About The Hallmark

The Hallmark sits behind a well-kept multi-story brick building with plenty of trees, a covered walkway, and easy-to-read signs out front, and you'll find both indoor and outdoor spaces for residents to spread out, with landscaped grounds and spots like a serene putting green, a poolside dining area, and patios for relaxing, while inside, there are several roomy shared spaces like living rooms with fireplaces, a library, and a billiards lounge, so people can gather comfortably or enjoy some quiet time. The apartments come in one- and two-bedroom layouts, many with city views, and the kitchens have full appliances-things like a stove, microwave, refrigerator, ice maker, dishwasher, and solid birch cabinets, plus white cabinetry and walk-in showers with built-in benches in the bathrooms for easier access. People who live at The Hallmark can choose independent living if they're active, and there's a Life Plan Community setup, so it's possible to move across care levels-assisted living, Memory Care, and skilled nursing-without leaving the place, and Memory Care services look after those with Alzheimer's or other memory conditions, while licensed nurses handle both short rehab stays and long-term support for those who need it. The building has a golf course nearby, a swimming pool, a fitness center, indoor meeting rooms, a beauty salon, and outdoor benches, and common areas and apartments have Wi-Fi and cable TV, air-conditioning, and fireplaces in some units. The restaurant-style dining room serves vegetarian options along with regular meals, uses white linens and fresh flowers, and there's room service for those who prefer to eat in their own space. Residents can bring dogs or cats, have access to parking, and use the community's transportation for errands or appointments, and daily life includes activities like music shows, religious services, exercise and aerobics classes, and organized games. The on-site licensed nursing facility has more than 32 beds and a focus on gerontology, while staff manages medications, helps with health needs, handles repairs, and keeps things running, offering safety and emergency response for peace of mind.
