Mulberry Manor sits in Stephenville, Texas, as a single-story retirement community with space for 102 residents and offers a mix of assisted living, independent living, memory care, skilled nursing, continuing care, and home care or hospice services in one place where folks really don't need to move as their needs change, and the community focuses on supporting people's independence while lending a hand where it's needed, like with daily tasks, medication management, and personal care, and there's a friendly team trained to help and offer 24-hour skilled nursing and long-term care, as well as short-term rehabilitation and therapy, including physical and occupational therapy, and diabetic care. Mulberry Manor has safety and security features like an emergency response system both in the building and rooms, and accepts Medicaid and insurance to help with different payment needs, while also providing housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance services taken care of by staff, and there's transportation to appointments, shopping, and outings. Inside, residents have private apartments with WiFi, communal spaces to gather, and shared dining where a culinary team cooks hearty meals every day. A Certified Activity Director plans social, educational, and faith-based programs, monthly outings, and regular entertainment, games, and crafts, helping everyone stay active and social, and visiting is flexible. The campus offers a sense of comfort, dignity, and respect, and staff aim to help everyone feel at home whether they're needing more help or more freedom as time goes on. Tours and photos are available for folks who want to see what's offered before deciding if Mulberry Manor fits their needs.

Caring staff but troubling discrimination
I have mixed feelings. The nursing staff (Riley, Monica) and support team (Marty, Miranda, Savannah) are caring, dedicated, and involved - there are Bible studies, bingo, and a real resident-family atmosphere, and my mom was well looked after. But the facility is old, smells, rooms are small and crowded (two per room), the food and management are poor and often unresponsive, and I witnessed staff harassment, perceived discrimination, and even a racial slur and hostile treatment on the 4th floor - which left me very concerned despite the good care.
