Friendly staff but smoking concerns
I moved my mom into Parasol Melbourne and she loves it - friendly, accommodating staff, helpful directors, an activities-packed calendar and excellent amenities that have really boosted her social life and happiness. Staff generally respond promptly and keep promises; a new maintenance team seems dedicated and work orders are improving (our apartment needed a deep clean after move-in). My main concerns are management's slow enforcement of the smoking policy - smoke has seeped into units and is a real health risk for immune-compromised residents - plus a rent increase after year one and noticeable turnover. Overall I would recommend Parasol Melbourne, but with reservations about management addressing the smoking and some operational issues.
