    Friendly staff nice garden concerns

I toured this converted motel near Lee's Summit square and liked the friendly staff, informative director, and that a 15-year resident recommended it - there's an opening now. I enjoyed the potluck lunches, desserts and community garden/vegetable beds, and the natural, bird-filled setting. That said, the building is in poor condition and doesn't match the photos; first-floor, walk-in units with two entrances left me worried about suitability for my mom despite the convenient location.

Residents can keep one small pet up to 25 pounds for a $400 fee as long as the pet fits the rules. The place is both smoke-free and pet friendly, so there's a clear balance between health rules and companionship. There's easy off-street parking, and walk-in access for those who don't want to climb stairs, plus the clubhouse is always open for games, meals, or grabbing a coffee from one of the three cafes nearby. For those who garden, a tenant garden lets folks grow vegetables, and there are paths and parks all around, including William-Grant Park.

LeGrand runs monthly schedules with group meals and dessert gatherings, and there's always something going on, whether indoors in the clubhouse or outdoors in the yard or gazebos. The memory care part of LeGrand is known for using layouts and features that reduce confusion and wandering, trying to make things calm and safe for those with different needs. Nutritious meals with quality ingredients are provided, and there's transportation help for getting to appointments or outings. LeGrand's ranch apartments fit a retirement lifestyle with easy living, focus on safety, and a straightforward way to settle in. There are benefits too, like a Resident Benefits Package for a monthly fee, which covers things like liability insurance, credit building, and move-in concierge services. Usually, you need to apply online-everyone over 18 must do the application and there's a non-refundable fee. LeGrand is known for offering no-fuss, accessible choices for seniors who want community living, help with everyday needs, or something in between.
