    Clean, comfortable community; watch fees

I placed my loved one here and have been very pleased - the building and apartments are clean, bright, comfortable, and smaller (about 650 sq ft), with a strong sense of community and a professional, personable manager, Mary Britt. Initial pricing was attractive but garage/storage and some cleaning fees are extra. I highly recommend it, though note others have reported maintenance and management problems (slow emergency response, broken promises, extra charges, occasional flooding) under different ownership, so confirm current conditions before committing.

    About Westminster Senior Housing

Westminster Senior Housing sits on Madison's east side, tucked in a quiet, residential neighborhood, and folks say it's a warm, welcoming place where people look out for each other and the staff always bring friendliness and kindness, which helps everyone feel at home, and since the property's smoke-free, it helps keep things clean and comfortable, and the community's well-kept, safe, and quiet, with management and maintenance folks dedicated to making it pleasant for everyone living there. Managed by Envolve LLC, the building offers independent, maintenance-free apartments just for active seniors who are 55 or older, and people who move in can even rent furniture through CORT's Move In Ready package if that helps. The rent stays far below other area apartments because it runs as a Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) community, so the rent is based on income, usually costing about 30% of what someone makes each month, but they do have rules about not going over a certain income to qualify. The whole application process includes credit and background checks, and you'll need to pull together a driver's license or government ID, Social Security card, proof of income, bank statements, and some references, with an application fee that usually runs $25 to $50 paid by money order, and the managers handle several properties, so it can help to pop by and meet with them directly.

People living at Westminster Senior Housing get quick access to groceries, banks, and the East Towne Mall, which comes in handy, and the community tries to keep things lively with activities like coffee chats, game nights, and meals that are sometimes catered for everyone to enjoy, when health rules allow it, so seniors can get together for social time, physical activity, and some mental exercise too. Residents find unique features and different care options here, since Westminster is designed to serve older adults who have a variety of needs, with everything from independent living-where healthy seniors can stay active and hassle-free-to assisted living services for those who need some help with everyday activities like bathing or taking medicine, and there are memory care services for people living with Alzheimer's or dementia so they can get care and therapies in a safe environment, plus home care services so trained aides can help with companionship and non-medical needs for those who want to stay in their apartments and keep some independence. The amenities cover a wide range, including nutritious meals by chefs and meal planners, community-based services for low-income seniors, and programs set up to fit senior living. The place gets recognized for being clean and well-maintained, and the building's rules and services try to make it comfortable for everyone, but a visit is probably the best way to see if fits your needs, since the in-person experience lets you meet the manager and get a true sense of daily life.
