    About Silverado Encinitas

Silverado Encinitas stands as a specialized memory care community dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals living with memory impairment. Conveniently located just minutes from the 5 freeway, it provides a warm and supportive environment that serves families from Del Mar, Solana Beach, Cardiff, Carlsbad, Carmel Valley, and surrounding communities. More than just an assisted living setting, Silverado Encinitas offers focused care with a highly trained interdisciplinary team and innovative programs specifically designed to meet the needs of its residents.

The community is structured into three distinct care “neighborhoods,” each catering to residents at different stages of memory impairment. This thoughtful organization allows personalized care that evolves as residents’ needs change. Silverado Encinitas is known for its specialized training, requiring all staff to complete a comprehensive 40-hour certification program with both classroom instruction and hands-on experience. Leadership within the care team is strong, with a Physician Medical Director, a Director of Health Services, a Masters level social worker, and 24-hour licensed nurses all ensuring the highest-quality attention and medical oversight.

Central to life at Silverado Encinitas is the internationally recognized Nexus program. This evidence-based, non-drug brain health approach has been shown to improve cognition and function for many individuals in the earlier stages of dementia. Overseen by Nexus Program Director Janelle Johnson, the program integrates new and innovative activities, focusing on stimulating memory and improving overall well-being for participants. The community’s engagement also extends to enriching amenities, from a fitness center and salon to spacious bedrooms and activity rooms supporting hobbies such as billiards and cooking.

Nutritional care is elevated at Silverado Encinitas under the guidance of Director of Culinary Services Kathy Roney, who has been with the community since 2000. The “family table” dining philosophy is at the heart of daily life, emphasizing meals that are appealing, culturally respectful, and designed to bring residents and families together. This focus on dining nurtures community and contributes to the overall joy and comfort experienced by residents.

The facility maintains a clean, safe, and comfortable environment thanks to the leadership of Josue Lopez, Director of Plant Operations, who brings dedication and a cheerful presence to his role. The community’s dedication extends to family support as well. Dorit Hakak, a Senior Family Ambassador, provides ongoing education and guidance, while Kaitlyn Collins, Director of Resident & Family Services, supports families through their journeys, offering expertise grounded in both professional training and personal experience.

Silverado Encinitas encourages the involvement of families and loved ones through regular social gatherings, such as the “Family Escapades” events, where families can come together and build connections in a festive, supportive atmosphere. At every level, the community is enriched by a team that combines passion, longstanding commitment, and innovative programming to deliver a truly holistic approach to memory care.
