    Beautiful facility but safety concerns

I placed my loved one here and overall the facility is bright, homey and beautiful - nice apartments, central dining/activity areas, and plenty going on (meals, snacks, outings, music/activities). The aides were polite and some staff were very caring and willing to work with family; housekeeping and cleanliness are generally good. However, staffing and management are inconsistent: communication often failed (desk unattended, calls unanswered), the administrator seemed overwhelmed, and care quality declined after a lead caregiver left. I experienced serious safety and hygiene concerns (delay cleaning an incident, long toenails, wasted meds, a fall not promptly reported, poor podiatry), and occasional staff indifference in salon/desk. Food and activities were enjoyable for my loved one, but the menu and activities could be expanded. I would recommend touring and visiting frequently - there are many positives, but be cautious about staffing, communication and safety.

    About Savoy Reflections

Savoy Reflections sits at 62 E Airport Rd, Savoy, IL, and the facility provides care for seniors who need help with daily life or support for memory issues, like Alzheimer's and dementia, and the building holds 32 licensed beds for assisted living and memory care. The community is part of the Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections Memory Care group, with a state of Illinois license, so they follow state rules for safety and resident support, and they've got nurses on staff at all hours, watching over residents' needs. Care options at Savoy Reflections include independent living, assisted living, memory care, Alzheimer's & Dementia Care, and even short-term respite care, and families can choose among different suites-one-bedroom, two-bedroom standard, or two-bedroom deluxe, depending on what the resident wants or needs. Residents get housekeeping, linen service, laundry, and help with things like bathing, dressing, and taking medicine, and the kitchen team serves meals that are meant to be both healthy and enjoyable, always trying to use good ingredients and paying attention to dietary needs.

They run a busy activity calendar that includes daily exercise, life-enriching programs, religious services in the chapel, and even chances to get outside, such as fishing at the community pond, so there's something for the social and active folks as well as for those looking for quiet time. People can also use the beauty salon, sit in outdoor spaces, or make use of handy features like Wi-Fi and easy handicap access, and pets are even welcomed close by. Scheduled transportation is available for both medical appointments and other trips, which makes it easier for folks who can't or won't drive anymore. Care plans are updated as residents' health changes, and the memory care area is kept secure to reduce confusion and wandering for those with advanced dementia, so families can feel some peace of mind.

Staff members at Savoy Reflections are described as kind, helpful, and joyful by many who visit or live there, and people have commented on the warm and clean environment. Meals are prepared and served, and there's always an effort to keep things nutritious and support seniors' overall well-being. The community's focus stays on safety, quality of life, and activities that keep people engaged physically, mentally, and emotionally, and there's always supervision from trained staff. People can reserve suites and choose from different living options, and the team says they strive to help each resident feel at home, no matter which care type they need. The facility is open from 9:00 to 16:00 Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays, and they may accept Medicaid if certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, depending on a resident's eligibility.
