      About Riviera at Freehold

Riviera at Freehold is a gated active adult community in Freehold Township, New Jersey, with about 300 homes built by Toll Brothers from 2003 to 2007, and every house there is resale only, with sizes ranging from over 2,000 to more than 3,000 square feet, featuring single or two-car garages, and model styles with two to four bedrooms, sometimes with a loft or den thrown in, and you'll see open spaces, lakes, tree-lined streets, and well-kept landscaping all around because the grounds crews and the Buildings and Grounds committee really keep on top of it. The community centers around an award-winning clubhouse that they use for every kind of gathering you can think of, with a grand ballroom for parties and social events, plus game rooms, card rooms, a billiards room, a fitness center, and both an indoor and outdoor pool-the outdoor pool's open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and the indoor pool lets folks swim any time of year, which comes in handy. They've got a library if you want somewhere quiet to read, and there are plenty of places to play cards or board games, along with all kinds of scheduled activities like mahjongg, canasta, and Scrabble, and people enjoy themed dances and community dinners in the ballroom, too. Outside you'll find tennis courts, bocce courts, a putting green, horseshoe pits, and shuffleboard courts, and you'll see folks organizing tennis, bocce, bowling, golf, exercise classes, winter yoga or Pilates, even some basketball and football, plus there's a ski club for those brave enough for the cold. Walkers and bikers use the trails, and there's always someone outside whenever the weather's decent. The community's active with clubs, all resident-run, including Men's and Women's Clubs, the Italian American Club, the Shalom Club, and the Page Turners Book Club, and it's a pretty diverse bunch with cultural activities and hobby groups, too. They have a newsletter called Riviera Ramblings every month, and community flyers make sure everyone hears about what's going on. Committees like the Architectural Review, Finance, Clubhouse, Rules and Regulations, Social, Website, and Community Affairs handle decisions, and the HOA fee starts at $370 a month to keep everything running and up to standard. You'll find homes have private bathrooms, kitchenettes, cable TV, internet, telephone, air conditioning, and some come furnished, with dining options at the clubhouse tasting like restaurant-style meals, including dishes for allergies or diabetes, and plates put together by a professional chef. Seniors 55 and over live here, and care services are available such as a 24-hour call system, medication management, help with bathing and dressing, non-ambulatory support, plus short-term respite care for residents and their caregivers needing a break. Families find it easy to visit because the main entrance is off Jackson Mills Road, although guests should use that entrance, not the resident-only gate on Bergerville Road, and there's a Call Box System to sign in visitors. The community is minutes from Freehold Raceway Park, Freehold Raceway Mall, Jersey Freeze, shopping, parks, golf courses, and medical centers, so it's easy to get to stores, health care, and restaurants. They add touches like scheduled housekeeping, laundry service, concierge, move-in coordination, and family support, and recreation rooms, arts and crafts, movie theater, and wellness programs fill out the daily schedule. This neighborhood isn't flashy but it feels well-kept, friendly, and active, with most everyone knowing their neighbors, and people tend to help each other out, making it a solid place for active seniors who want a mix of community involvement, recreation, comfort, and peace of mind as they get older.
