    Attractive grounds, unsafe resident care

I had mixed feelings - the grounds, outdoor spaces, dining and activities (Friday happy hour with live music!) are pleasant and many staff were friendly and professional. But chronic understaffing and poor communication led to unsafe care in my experience: residents left unattended in wheelchairs, missed showers/meals/meds, multiple falls and ER transfers, and I saw little follow-up from management. The building is dated, rooms small and clinical, and policies around vaccines/masks felt heavy-handed and isolating. Overall: attractive on the surface, but I wouldn't recommend it based on the hands-on care I witnessed.

    About Solaris Healthcare Charlotte Harbor

Solaris Healthcare Charlotte Harbor stands as a healthcare facility that offers a range of services for seniors, including skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, respite care, and hospice care, and people say the facilities are clean and well-maintained, with outdoor spaces like lanais and sidewalks where residents can stroll for fresh air and a bit of movement if they wish, and those amenities are much appreciated. The staff includes nurses, therapists, and people trained in medication management and diabetic care, so folks with different healthcare needs often find the right assistance, especially since physical therapy and occupational therapy are available to help maintain or improve daily living skills, and the team also provides rehabilitation services for short-term or extended stays. Visitors will see the outdoor seating, WiFi, air conditioning, restrooms, and parking, and many will enjoy that there are flexible visiting policies, even during the COVID-19 situation, since the administration, led by F. Stan Weyer, NHA, works to keep people safe using things like PPE, social distancing, and special rules for visitors during outbreaks or if someone's in quarantine. Meals get a bit of attention, too, because the food is made to look appealing and folks say it tastes good, and the staff put effort into organizing daily activities, with multiple events to join, plus there's a Friday Happy Hour with live music and refreshments to add a little fun at the end of the week, and that social part keeps many residents active and engaged, which is important. The facility is an affiliate of Solaris Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization, and it's got policies and a reputation that suggest a focus on keeping a high standard of care. The Admissions Director, Dee LaTorre, helps people figure out what's needed when considering a move or a stay, and the facilities have wheelchair access to make it easier for everyone to get around. Overall, folks find Solaris Healthcare Charlotte Harbor suitable for people needing skilled nursing and rehab, as well as for those who want a bit more comfort and support in an environment designed with seniors' needs in mind.
