    Good therapy, poor facility conditions

I went for rehab and found the therapy team excellent and several staff friendly and helpful, but overall I was disappointed. The building is old and needs upgrades - bad odors, stained/dirty rooms/linens, moldy/aged AC, broken blinds and outside disrepair - and I saw unprofessional, understaffed care (long waits for diaper changes, dirty gloves/shirts, poor communication, unresponsive business office, rude management). For short-term rehab it's acceptable if you prioritize therapy, but I wouldn't trust it for long-term care until cleanliness, staffing and management improve.

The facility offers respite care if families need a break or have to travel, as well as long-term or short-term rehabilitation care, and they accept Medicare and Medicaid. There's a beauty and barber shop, religious services, Wi-Fi, social events, and plenty of entertainment to help residents enjoy their days. The Place At Pooler is a for-profit LLC and has a nursing and rehabilitation center as well, with care teams that include qualified nurses, certified aides, and therapists. It provides continuing care for people needing ongoing support, and offers a supportive environment aiming to help seniors stay as comfortable as possible.
