Weiser Of Cascadia sits in the Weiser community as a for-profit senior living and rehabilitation center run by Kindred Healthcare, and people who come here can find 76 beds spread out in private and semi-private rooms, and you'll notice the grounds have inviting outdoor spaces with plenty of places to relax, and the inside has modern therapy areas designed to help people heal. Here, folks receive short-term rehab and long-term skilled nursing care, and the care team includes nurses, doctors, social workers, nutritionists, and dietitians meeting people's needs day and night, and you'll also find staff trained with specific knowledge in physical, occupational, and speech therapy. The Therapies and Support Programs at Weiser Of Cascadia offer help for stroke recovery, joint replacement, wound care, postsurgical recovery, and care for orthopedic, neurological, and degenerative disorders, and there's attention to Alzheimer's disease counseling and memory care for those who need a specially designed environment. Residents who need help with daily routines like bathing, dressing, and medication can get that, and the skilled team also handles medication management, emergency response, housekeeping, laundry, and transportation and parking services for appointments, while beautician services are on hand for those who want them. People will notice a variety of activities planned for residents, and amenities match what seniors expect, with transitional rehab and long-term care both offered, plus services covering post-acute care and support for high acuity needs. The center's known for providing care focused on each patient's own goals and well-being, and it's been recognized for service excellence by those familiar with its work. Weiser Of Cascadia follows both a proper code of conduct and privacy practices and is a member of the Idaho Health Care Association since 2022, and while the place is modern and welcoming, the main thing to know is that it centers care and rehabilitation with the supports many older people or those recovering from illness may need.
Pleased overall but training needed
I'm the family member of a resident and overall very pleased - the facility is beautiful and home-like, meals and daily activities are good, and the staff are generally attentive, caring and responsive. Communication with family has been excellent and their proactive dementia care helped my loved one flourish. That said, I encountered worrying lapses - a door left open and improper medication administration that risked hospitalization - and some staff were inconsiderate or undertrained, especially for rehab patients. Most issues were eventually addressed through family collaboration, but consistency and better staff training are needed; I would recommend this place with those caveats.
