Williamsport is home to The Williamsport Home, a distinguished care facility that has served the greater Lycoming County community for nearly 150 years. Situated just minutes from downtown, The Williamsport Home resides on an expansive 86-acre wooded campus in Loyalsock Township, perched on a hilltop that offers scenic views overlooking the city. The facility provides a comprehensive spectrum of services for older adults, creating a place that prides itself on being a home away from home—a true neighborhood where caring for neighbors is at the heart of their mission.
The campus features several unique living options and care programs, each designed to support residents as they navigate their golden years. Independent Living Apartments are available for those who wish to maintain their autonomy while enjoying amenities such as chef-cooked noon meals. For individuals requiring more support, the facility offers individualized Personal Care programs, allowing residents to receive assistance tailored to their needs.
A significant aspect of The Williamsport Home is its Skilled Nursing Facility, which accommodates 129 individuals and includes a state-of-the-art Short Term Rehabilitation Center known as Ravine Ridge. At Ravine Ridge, every room is private, and the environment is designed to be both supportive and uplifting, with resort-like touches throughout. The rehabilitation wing offers a private entrance, thoughtfully planned private rooms and baths, and inviting dining and lounge areas to ensure that every resident’s well-being is prioritized during their recovery. Ravine Ridge specializes in providing a pathway back to independence after an accident, surgery, or illness, with dedicated physical and occupational therapy services.
In addition to rehabilitation and skilled nursing, The Williamsport Home extends its care to encompass secured Memory Care for residents with cognitive needs and End of Life Suites/Comfort Care Services for those in need of compassionate support and dignity during their final days. The holistic approach ensures that as residents’ needs change over time, a high level of care and continuity is always maintained.
As the campus has expanded over the decades, The Williamsport Home has continually added new services and programs, all with the goal of serving the evolving needs of its residents. Whether living independently, receiving personal or skilled nursing care, participating in short-term rehabilitation at Ravine Ridge, or accessing specialized memory or comfort care, residents find an environment built on respect, community, and a tradition of genuine compassion.
