    About Childserve Habilitation Center

ChildServe Habilitation Center is dedicated to supporting children and young adults with developmental delays, disabilities, injuries, and other special healthcare needs. The center’s team of experts works collaboratively to identify and address each child's unique challenges, providing specialized therapies and innovative care programs that help every individual reach their fullest potential. With services designed to enrich lives, ChildServe emphasizes a holistic approach—meeting not only the medical and therapeutic needs of their clients, but also nurturing social and emotional growth.

Recently, ChildServe celebrated a significant milestone by officially transitioning its licensure from a nursing facility to a specialty hospital designation. This change reflects the center’s ongoing commitment to leading-edge pediatric care and marks a new chapter in its evolving mission to provide advanced and comprehensive services. The development of this designation involved close collaboration and dedicated advocacy with statewide leaders and organizations, all for the benefit of the children and families they serve.

ChildServe Habilitation Center offers a variety of programs tailored to children with specific needs. In Jojo’s Inpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit, children like Irlanda receive intensive rehabilitation following life-altering illnesses or injuries, supported by a nurturing, home-like environment during their recovery. For children with developmental disabilities, such as those on the autism spectrum, programs like the Autism Day Program and the Autism Program are designed to support communication and daily living skills. Stories like Boone’s graduation from the Autism Program and Emery’s blossoming communication after six months highlight the impactful progress made by participants.

Therapeutic interventions at ChildServe are broad and integrative. Physical, occupational, and speech therapies are core offerings, helping children develop essential life skills and recover from injuries or congenital challenges. The center also provides specialty therapies, such as feeding therapy combined with mental health support, which helped 9-year-old Bennett greatly improve his relationship with food. Speech and hippotherapy programs play a central role in helping children like Harper, who has autism, connect and engage with the world around them, fostering independence and confidence.

Beyond therapy, ChildServe places great emphasis on supporting the child’s entire support system. Programs such as Sibshops are designed to recognize and celebrate the resilience and compassion of siblings of children with special healthcare needs, strengthening unique family bonds and building understanding among peers. The Respite and SCL (Supported Community Living) services introduce children and young adults to a variety of enriching experiences each day, reinforcing personal goals and encouraging fun, friendship, and personal achievement. Every day, participants like Zena, Tryemaine, Zoe, and Shane overcome challenges, crush goals, and move toward living a great life with encouragement from dedicated care teams and the support of specialized equipment and technology.

ChildServe’s culture is rooted in a drive to make meaningful milestones possible in everyday settings, whether that means helping a young child communicate for the first time, supporting a teen athlete like Shae through concussion recovery at the Concussion Clinic, or enabling a family to enjoy memorable moments in everyday places like the grocery store. With every program, therapy, and family connection, ChildServe Habilitation Center continues to empower children and young adults to live lives filled with growth, dignity, and endless potential.
