    Good care but staffing concerns

I had a mixed experience at this clean, new facility - private rooms with walk-in showers, an open kitchen with fresh meals, attentive CNAs and an excellent rehab/therapy team were definite positives. Several nurses were caring and consistent, and staff ran helpful, individualized programs. But the place is often understaffed and chaotic: delayed call responses, missed meds, unattended falls, medication errors, bedsores and even serious infections leading to hospice were reported/experienced, and management sometimes seemed disconnected. It can feel clinical rather than homey, activities are limited though improving, and the cost felt high for the risks. I'm grateful to many staff but would advise caution before choosing this facility.

    About Nottingham Health And Rehabilitation

Nottingham Health and Rehabilitation sits out in Olathe, KS, and folks who come here get medical care, help with personal needs, and a setting that tries hard to feel like home, and while the ratings from reviews-just 2.2 out of 5 based on 16 reviews-tell that people have mixed opinions, you can see that the staff sticks with a skilled nursing and rehabilitation approach, having certified beds and accepting Medicare and Medicaid for folks who need that, and when people arrive, they'll find private bedrooms, a furnished environment, and some move-in coordination to help ease the change, with room to move just a few steps from living and dining areas decorated to provide a sense of comfort. The amenities cover a lot of ground, including an arts room, a garden, walking paths, a barber/salon, a dining room where chefs and meal planners aim to give nutritious meals including for diabetes and allergy diets, and there's a grand piano, warm fireplace, large screen TV, and Wi-Fi, all intended to offer choices for leisure or social activities like movie nights and resident-run clubs. The building has a therapy gym and offers non-ambulatory care, memory care for seniors living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, medication management, high acuity and incontinence care, hospice and palliative care under the guidance of Medical Director Dr. Emily Worthington, and there's a social care program running alongside the healthcare services, with access to programs and claim options through a platform powered by findhelp, though there's no published price list, but an average reported price of $800 has come up. There's 24-hour call and emergency alert systems, laundry, housekeeping, dry cleaning, transportation, and parking, along with skilled nursing around the clock to help with bathing, dressing, transfers, and other daily tasks. The staff includes nurses, a Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, MDS Coordinator, Business Office Manager, Social Services Director, and Transportation Coordinator, and folks who stay might notice how helpful and kind the caregivers are, as often noted in comments about the atmosphere feeling welcoming and friendly, even if all experiences haven't been perfect. All reviews posted get checked for authenticity, with over 95% confirmed as first-hand, which helps give a clearer picture to anyone looking for honest feedback. Residents see scheduled activities like art projects, movie nights, ball games, club meetings, and other events, offering ways to connect and spend time. The company runs as a for-profit limited liability company, isn't part of a full-scale Continuing Care Retirement Community, but does offer the types of health, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing care folks in this area might look for if they need more help than they can get at home but still want social contact, safety, and a bit of daily comfort along with their care.
