Sherrill House is a not-for-profit skilled nursing and rehabilitation center dedicated to providing comprehensive care for older adults. This facility is well-equipped to support individuals rehabilitating from surgery or complex injuries, those living with Alzheimer’s or dementia, as well as adults who are no longer able to live independently and require skilled nursing care. With a total of 182 beds, Sherrill House offers a range of specialized programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of its residents.
The center features a robust Short-Term Care program within their Rehabilitation Program, comprising 47 beds. Here, an in-house team of physical, occupational, and speech therapists delivers personalized rehabilitative services designed to restore mobility, independence, and overall well-being. These therapies are provided in a fully equipped gym filled with natural sunlight and offering serene views overlooking the Jamaicaway, creating a therapeutic and uplifting environment for recovery.
Long-term care at Sherrill House spans three dedicated floors, including two traditional Long-Term Care units, each accommodating 45 beds per floor. Additionally, there is a specialized Alzheimer’s Disease and Memory Care Program situated on a separate floor, also with 45 beds. This unit is designed to address the unique needs of adults living with Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia, offering individualized attention and activities suited to memory care residents.
In addition to skilled nursing and rehabilitative services, Sherrill House supports residents through several specialized in-house programs. Their facility includes an on-site dialysis center, DaVita Kidney Care, ensuring convenient access to essential kidney care treatment. For those requiring end-of-life support, Longwood Hospice operates within the center to provide compassionate palliative care tailored to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents and their families.
Sherrill House places a notable emphasis on expressive and therapeutic activities as integral components of care. Certified art and music therapists conduct frequent therapy sessions for both residents and patients each day, enriching the daily experience and supporting emotional well-being.
