    Caring staff, clean facility, recommended

My mom lives at this small non-profit and I couldn't be happier. The staff (Paul and the nurses/aides) are caring and always available, providing quality care in a very clean, odor-free facility with wide halls. There's a large dining room with very good food my mom loves, plus daily activities-games, bingo, crafts, Bible study, music and holiday parties. Rooms are small and private rooms are scarce, but I highly recommend this place.

    About Gower Convalescent Center

Gower Convalescent Center sits in Gower, MO, and serves as a nonprofit healthcare facility providing both intermediate and skilled nursing care, covering short-term stays, long-term care, adult daycare, and hospice programs, which means they care whether you're planning to spend a short time recovering from surgery or illness or need care for a longer stretch, and they accept payment through Medicaid, Medicare, or private-pay. The staff includes registered nurses and certified nursing assistants available 24 hours, offering help with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and grooming, plus medication management and transfer assistance, so folks can feel secure knowing professional help is always close by. Amberly Moore manages the center as principal officer and administrator, guiding a team that provides regular housekeeping and laundry, coordinates move-ins, and offers family support services, which can make transitions smoother for residents and their loved ones.

The facility includes 82 beds for skilled nursing, and they've set up rooms to be comfortable, with private bathrooms, air conditioning, cable TV, Wi-Fi, telephones, kitchenettes, and furnished living spaces, which helps give each resident a sense of privacy and connection. The meals come from a professional chef, and residents can eat in a dining room with restaurant-style service, plus they'll find all-day dining options and meals designed for special diets such as diabetes or allergies, and family members can feel reassured about the food quality and safety of loved ones with dietary restrictions.

Residents use the center's transportation and parking services for getting to appointments or running errands, and there are plenty of daily and community-sponsored activities, like arts and crafts, cooking classes, bingo, concerts, movie nights, social events, and resident-run gatherings. Outdoors, the center offers gardens and walking paths, and inside are amenities like activity rooms, a movie theater, fitness programs and a gym, a spa area, arts rooms, and a game room, giving everyone space to keep busy or relax as they choose.

For health and recovery, the Gower Convalescent Center has licensed professionals running occupational, physical, speech, and restorative therapies, and they pay attention to rehabilitation needs by offering soft tissue mobilization and help with posture and body mechanics. Folks needing specialized care during recovery after a hospital stay or ongoing support for complex health needs can find individualized care plans, and the center makes sure help is there every hour of every day through a call system and regular supervision, which is comforting to residents and their families.

The organization belongs to the Missouri Health Care Association, and it's registered as a nonprofit called Gower Convalescent Center Inc., following a mission to promote optimal health with quality individualized care, so while it doesn't have a recorded board of directors, it remains focused on serving those needing convalescent and long-term support, whether they're paying through Medicaid, Medicare, or on their own.
