    Beautiful facility, understaffed, poor management

I had a loved one at this large, nicely decorated facility with a lovely outdoor area, beauty parlor, ice-cream nights and a state-of-the-art therapy gym - therapists and many nurses/CNAs were sincere, respectful and gave one-on-one attention. Activities and rehab staff were committed and the family portal made involvement easy. However, management seems poorly run and the place is very short-staffed: long waits for nurses, delayed or mixed medications, occasional weeks without proper bathing, and discharge pressures were real problems. Food was inconsistent - table-side service and dessert cart were great but overall meals and soft-food options were below par. It can be a safe, caring place if you (or your loved one) have a strong advocate; otherwise consider finding a better facility.

    About Lancaster Rehabilitation Center

Lancaster Rehabilitation Center sits on South Street in Lincoln, NE, and folks say on review sites it scores a 4.4 out of 5 with 99 people sharing their thoughts, so it seems plenty have had good experiences, but every place has its mix of opinions. The center offers both short-term and long-term care, so some come for just a while after surgery or an injury and others stay longer if they need more ongoing help. There are services for folks recovering after heart trouble, strokes, surgery, and those facing orthopedic injuries or broken bones, and they offer physical, occupational, and speech therapy in a therapy room that's newly expanded and remodeled-so folks get the kind of help that matches their needs, tailored to what each person can handle. Diabetes management, IV therapy, pain control, wound care, and support for those with feeding or chest tubes, hospice needs, and even care with tracheostomies are all included, and they've got on-site x-rays, Doppler tests, labs, and visits from podiatry and optometry professionals, so a fair range of health problems are covered within the facility. Meals are cooked fresh daily, and on-site registered dietitians make sure everyone has the right food for their health needs, which sometimes makes a real difference for folks who struggle with their appetite. If someone needs help with emotional or mental health, there's a licensed mental health practitioner and a physician's assistant on site to assist, which can mean a lot to families who worry about more than just the physical side of things. Some rooms are private and others are shared, so people have options for their living arrangements, and every call for help goes through a computerized light system so staff know quickly when someone needs something, which makes things a bit safer than usual. Transportation for medical visits is available, and there's 24-hour skilled nursing too, so someone's always watching out for the residents no matter what time it is. The staff tries to help everyone reach their physical and emotional best and they design activity programs around each person's interests, which breaks up the day and brings a sense of routine. They're affiliated with Lancaster Manor Rehabilitation Center LLC, and though you'll find no telehealth services or official accreditation, the facility has provider number 271657 and NPI number 1891026530. They're open Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and focus on both the folks living there and the whole community's well-being, aiming for a safe and steady place to recover, get stronger, or just settle in for longer if that's what someone needs.
