    Great therapy but poor nursing

I had a mixed experience at Inglemoor. The building is attractive and clean, and the rehab team/therapists were excellent, rigorous and caring - they helped a lot. But nursing was often surly and slow; I waited a long time for bathroom help, lost weight, and my diverticulitis needs weren't accommodated. Meals were unbalanced, lacking fresh vegetables/fruit, dining staff were overworked, and there was no weekend rehab or consistent menu adjustments. Communication and planning felt poor (spotty updates, inconsistent Wi-Fi, outdated movie screen, rooms mostly small doubles), and COVID-era restrictions and staffing problems raised safety and visitation concerns. Overall: great therapy and clean facility, but serious issues with nursing, dining, communication and staffing relative to the price.

About Inglemoor Rehabilitation And Care Center Of Living

Inglemoor Rehabilitation And Care Center Of Living sits in New Jersey with 138 certified beds and usually cares for about 98 residents each day, offering both private and semi-private rooms to fit different needs, and folks there will find services for everything from independent living to assisted living, nursing home care, memory care, and continuing care so no matter how much help somebody needs, they aim to have it covered. The place has a long list of rehabilitation services, including special programs for stroke, cardiac, and orthopedic recovery, and offers wound care, palliative and hospice care, respiratory and oxygen support, and short-term respite care when families just need a break or extra help for a short while. The rehab department gets a lot of attention, with a 3,000 square foot therapy gym-packed with handy equipment like a treadmill, Nu-Step, standing table, parallel bars, and a recumbent bike-plus a full kitchen and bathroom right in the gym to help residents practice daily living skills safely, and you'll see visits from a physiatrist every week to oversee recovery plans while therapists with 10 to 20 years' experience lead personalized programs. The West Wing stands out because it has 16 spacious private rooms, each with a recliner chair, mini fridge, flat-screen TV, and Wi-Fi, which seems to be available everywhere across the building, and there's an Inglemoor library for leisure reading along with regular notary, laundry, beautician, and religious services, as well as family rooms for visitors to gather in a more private way. The dining experience gets a special mention, too, since meals aren't just about nutrition, but also a way for residents to socialize, and the staff also handles special dietary needs as best they can even though CMS inspection reports have cited the facility for problems with food service standards and making sure they only get food from approved sources.

CMS reports also show they've had pharmacy service issues, like not always following proper drug labeling and storage rules, and they've had other documented care and staffing deficiencies along the way, with nurses turning over at a rate of 43.6%, which is something folks might want to think about if consistency with caregivers is important, while the average staffing comes to about 4.49 nurse hours for each resident per day. The whole place is run as a for-profit limited liability company, and even with some of these citations, they've managed to maintain a 5 Star Rating by CMS, and people often speak well of how the staff treats residents and families with genuine care, aiming for a safe and homelike environment where everyone gets an individualized care plan. Amenities go beyond medical care, including cozy community rooms, a beautician, regular religious services, and full-service respite care, and their interdisciplinary team-including hospice providers when needed-meets with families to discuss patient progress and concerns, always tailoring care toward independence and comfort so when time comes for discharge, the goal is to get folks safely home if possible. Family meetings with therapists and social workers are part of the routine, and care plans adjust as needed, which helps everyone feel more included and informed during a loved one's stay. The facility works hard to provide both advanced medical care and the small comforts that help someone feel at home, from internet access in private rooms to quiet reading spaces or safe, cheerful gathering areas.
