    Beautiful facility, but unsafe care

I appreciated the immaculate, bright facility - lovely rooms, manicured grounds, great rehab/therapy, good food and many genuinely caring staff. But I also experienced alarming neglect: unanswered call buttons, late/wrong meds, rude/overwhelmed aides, falls and very poor communication with a disengaged, payment-focused administration. Beautiful place with excellent therapy, but I would not feel safe leaving a loved one there long-term.

    About King Street Home

King Street Home sits in Rye Brook, New York, right near Port Chester, and offers care for people who need short or long-term help after being in the hospital, after surgery, or when living with illnesses or memory problems. The facility's run by the same family for three generations, and they keep things comfortable with rooms full of light, nice linens, and peaceful green views of gardens, walking paths, a waterfall, koi pond, and a big labyrinth for slow strolls or quiet time. People can take part in gardening, yoga, Tai Chi, music, movies, lectures, and even get visits from Max, the Pet Therapy Director, who walks around meeting residents every day.

The care team includes doctors, nurses, therapists, nutritionists, and social workers, all working together to give folks what they need and paying attention to individual care plans. The place has rehab technology, pain management, and programs for post-surgery and stroke recovery, with physical, occupational, and speech therapy all available on-site. Folks dealing with memory issues can join specialized memory care programs, and there's help for daily activities such as bathing, dressing, transferring, and taking medication. Round-the-clock supervision and a 24-hour call system keep everyone safe, and non-ambulatory residents or those with limited mobility get the right level of support.

King Street Home accepts Medicare and Medicaid, and keeps clean, well-spaced rooms, fast Wi-Fi, and most rooms look out on green spaces. The staff are attentive and always dressed professionally but also seem to know when a little kindness goes a long way. People can enjoy a library, beauty parlor, barber, manicurist, and spa-like amenities, with family involvement encouraged for those wanting to keep in touch or needing some guidance. The Home offers respite stays, support for families, and always tries to focus on recovery and comfort-thinking both about the body and the mind-whether someone's here for a short time or planning to stay a bit longer. No pricing is posted, but the staff can help answer questions about costs and availability. All reviews from residents and families get checked to make sure they're real.
