    Warm staff, great rehab, understaffed

I stayed at this 63-bed, single-floor facility and had a wonderful time. The nurses and aides were caring and quick to help, dining was superb, the rec room was fun, and the in-house rehab with an on-site PT was excellent. Rooms are nice and clean though the building feels dated and the place is clearly understaffed - I noticed friction between nurses and CNAs at times. I'm grateful to the staff who became special friends; I will miss everyone and plan to visit.

    About Hales Corners Care Center

Hales Corners Care Center sits at 9449 W Forest Home Ave in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, near the Woodland Court community, and offers a calm spot for seniors, with 62 rooms set up for skilled nursing care, both private and semiprivate, and each room has a bed, chair, and satellite TV so residents can rest or watch whatever shows they like. The facility provides skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, and even independent living, and many folks appreciate the small company size, usually having about 2-10 employees, so faces become familiar and it's easy to know who's working, from LPN Wendy Ripani and CNA Samantha Steward to the Senior Engineer and Business Owner Chris Schultz, and there's usually a job opening for an RN Supervisor Registered Nurse if someone wants to join the team. Residents can count on round-the-clock supervision and a 24-hour call system, and nurses, social workers, and aides like Matt M. give personal medical care while treating everyone with dignity and respect.

The center helps people who need short-term rehab, and there are dedicated on-site physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapists right there to help with recovery, especially for things like hip surgery or after a hospital stay, and the therapy team uses up-to-date treatments to get folks moving again. Residents who aren't in therapy can join group activities like card games, bocce ball, planned day trips, fitness classes in the wellness center, or relax in the library or gaming room, and there's a nice patio out back with bird feeders and scenic views, which gives a peaceful break for anyone who wants fresh air. The staff organizes lots of daily activities, and residents often run their own events, so there's a good sense of community, and folks are encouraged to stay involved as much as they want, inside or outdoors in the garden space.

Nutritious meals and snacks come from a dedicated dietary staff, and people can eat in their rooms, dining room, or a private area set aside for family gatherings and special days, and there's usually flavored water available for anyone who wants it when they come in, and residents can dine with loved ones because the menu offers plenty of choices. Housekeeping and laundry get taken care of, with rooms fully furnished and set up with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, cable TV, and private bathrooms, and if someone likes to read, there's a small library or a magazine rack just inside the entrance. The center also handles transportation for medical visits or personal errands, which helps families stay connected and makes everyday life easier.

Medical services here include clinical care, hospice, peritoneal dialysis, nutrition counseling, diabetes and medication management, and pharmacy help, and folks get access to dentistry, optometry, podiatry, and audiology when needed. The whole approach centers around treating the entire person, not just health problems, so staff work to meet psychological, physical, social, and spiritual needs-they're known for providing caring end-of-life support and helping people make the transition into long-term care with social worker assistance. The community is Medicare and Medicaid certified and stays linked with local hospitals and other health groups for a smoother connection if hospital care is ever needed.

Hales Corners Care Center has always put an emphasis on kindness, keeping residents safe, healthy, and part of a real home, so it's a place where seniors can live with dignity, get help when needed, and have the space and independence to enjoy their days however they please, while staff are nearby to lend a hand, smile, or listen if someone wants to talk about old times. The website halescornerscarecenter.com has more about the care, but folks who visit often mention the friendly, clean, and welcoming spaces, the comfort of familiar staff, and the steady schedule of activities that keep life interesting and connected for residents.
