Clearwater Lodge sits in the heart of Cloverdale, CA, tucked away in quiet neighborhoods where seniors live in cozy board and care homes that only welcome a small number of residents, making things feel a bit more personal and familiar. This community works as a continuing care retirement place, which means people can come in while they're independent and stay through all stages, right up to full nursing care when it's needed, so folks don't have to move when their needs change. Residents can choose from independent living with some resort-style touches, private suites or shared rooms, and places with kitchenettes and private bathrooms. For those who need support, the staff helps with daily activities, medication reminders, personal care, laundry, and even pet care sometimes, plus there are easy-access showers for wheelchairs and help getting to appointments. There's a full schedule of activities-social, educational, and fun-plus programs that help people connect and build friendships, making things feel neighborly. People with memory problems, including Alzheimer's, can get specialized attention and join tailored memory care programs that keep them safe, with 24-hour support, memory-building activities, and space to move about comfortably, always under a watchful eye. Clearwater Lodge offers round-the-clock skilled nursing, help with wounds, rehab, and whatever health support a person might need, all in a peaceful setting with green spaces and quiet spots to relax. Meals use organic ingredients, the house stays clean with regular housekeeping and linen service, and there's air-conditioning, working phones, internet, cable TV, and a strong emergency response system-for comfort and peace of mind all day, every day. The staff has special training, goes by unique names tied to their role, and works hard to create an environment where everyone can age with respect and dignity. The community keeps things simple and maintenance-free, so residents don't have to worry about cleaning, cooking, or repairs. With only ten assisted living spots and a close-knit feel, Clearwater Lodge may be just right for someone looking for a quiet, supportive, and home-like place to live out their later years, surrounded by people who care and services set up to make life easier.

Welcoming staff provide excellent care
I toured and was impressed: the welcoming, skilled staff clearly enjoy their jobs and provide excellent, Alzheimer's-capable care with ample supervision. The private units are fresh, airy and calming, the grounds are beautifully kept with plenty of seating, and programming is lively - library and large activity room, film collection and movie outings, shopping trips, salon, yoga and special events; I toured without an appointment.
