    Warm caring staff; watch staffing

I placed my loved one here and overall I'm grateful - the staff are wonderful, caring and treat residents like family (special thanks to manager Jennifer), they advocated for end-of-life care, facilitated video visits during COVID, communicate well and quickly correct issues. The building is warm, safe and mostly very clean, with a nice, spacious dining room and renewed memory-care dining area, good meals and steady activities. Downsides: I noticed staffing changes/understaffing at times and occasional cleanliness lapses (a filthy toilet was reported), and a few care concerns were handled unevenly. On balance I'm happy my loved one made friends and was well cared for, but I'd watch staffing and cleaning.

    About Addie Meedom House

Addie Meedom House sits as a senior living community where people can get assisted living, memory care, respite care, and even independent living if they're still pretty active, and the place holds up to 63 residents under California license #126803254, so you know they're following the rules, and they've got a Resident Care Team that includes an Administrator, a Nurse, and a Resident Care Manager who all help make sure the care fits each person's changing needs, and for people needing help with daily activities or medication, the staff is there around the clock, plus they use technology like special bracelets to keep memory care residents safe from getting lost while having a memory care building that's built just for people with dementia or Alzheimer's, and for anyone who needs them, they've got wheelchair accessible showers, private bathrooms in some rooms, standby or two-person transfer help, and are trained to use mechanical lifts when needed, so even people who have trouble moving around get support. Folks get three meals a day, and since the kitchen does restaurant-style dining with room service, you can even get a snack at any time, and if you need special diets - like gluten-free, low sugar, or vegetarian - the cooks handle it and there's also guest meals, so nobody goes hungry or feels left out. There's also lots of activities, from art classes, yoga, and gardening to trips outside, musical guests, devotional services onsite and off, a gardening club, and cooking classes to keep life interesting, plus there are indoor and outdoor common areas so folks can walk or sit outside, and there's even a private courtyard for some quiet, and pets are allowed if that matters to you, with both dogs and cats welcome. The building has an emergency call system, high-speed internet, weekly housekeeping, and all utilities except the phone and cable are paid, and for anyone needing behavioral or incontinence care or diabetic help, specialized healthcare services are available, and some home care help is also offered for companionship or non-medical care. The staff checks on folks often, including people prone to wandering or those with major behavioral needs, and the design of the memory care section means people stay safe but still get the chance to be social when they want. For people who want to be involved, there's always something going on, but if someone prefers quiet or wants to keep to a routine, the care team works with them, gives help with mobility, and tries to keep their lives as comfortable and independent as possible.
