    Warm home-like care with caveats

    I placed my mom here and I love the warm, home-like house-Lena is delightful, the staff are caring and conscientious, rooms are beautiful (huge master suite, lovely backyard/porch), and they serve home-cooked meals three times a day. Caregivers do laundry/cleaning, use dementia-friendly routines, and go above and beyond, but they are not nurses: staffing can be thin, language barriers limit socializing, food quality varies, and there have been safety/medical response concerns. It's hospice-friendly and great for couples or someone who needs hands-on assisted living, but too expensive and not suitable for advanced medical or memory care. I would recommend it with those caveats.
