    Homey clean facility; excellent care

I toured this small, home-like facility and felt at ease - staff are competent, friendly and treat residents like family with private, very clean rooms and 24/7 proactive care. They offer regular bathing, exercise/outdoor time, a structured menu and hospital beds/furniture if needed; my only concern was a noticeable price discrepancy.

    About Mary's Manor

Mary's Manor in Fremont, CA, is a small home with only six beds, which means it stays quiet and everyone gets personal attention, and it always feels like a home and not a big institution, which some people like because you really get to know the staff and your neighbors, and the staff stay around night and day to help with things like bathing, dressing, taking medicines, or just getting up and around, and if someone forgets appointments or needs a reminder for medication, there's companionship to help with that, too. There's care set up for people who have memory problems like Alzheimer's, so they always have the right sort of safety and support, and there are different levels of help available, so folks can keep living there as their needs change. The building is safe, clean, and made for seniors, with wheelchair ramps, accessible bathrooms and showers, private or shared rooms, and big indoor and outdoor spaces where you can walk or sit for fresh air, plus there are gardens and community rooms, so you're not stuck in your bedroom all day. Meals are home-cooked and matched to what people need, with special diets for folks with diabetes, high blood pressure, and food allergies, and visitors can get meals, too, so it doesn't feel lonely during meals, and if someone needs a special dish, the cook and meal planner can figure it out. There are exercise programs, music therapy, pet visits, and movie nights, so it's easy to join in or just relax, and the staff plan regular activities to keep everyone busy and feeling like part of things. Families sometimes worry about how to get loved ones to appointments or out shopping, and transportation is available if you'd rather not use public transit, plus parking is there if family wants to visit or drive. The staff are kind and easy to talk to, and the place is licensed and set up for low-income seniors, and they work hard to offer long-term care, so families know their folks are safe, comfortable, and well looked after, which brings everyone some peace of mind when picking a place to call home.
