    About Twelve Oaks

Twelve Oaks sits on about five acres in the Montrose area of northern Glendale, where old oak trees shade the walkways and there's a peaceful, park-like setting with sweeping views of the San Gabriel Mountains, and you really get the feeling that the place has a long history, since it's been around for more than eighty years and some of the buildings go all the way back to the 1920s. You'll find cozy independent living cottages that they've updated, two dorm buildings, and a large dining room and community center where people gather for meals or activities, and there's a real family-like sense among the residents. The community supports people who need independent living, assisted living, or memory care, and they've got services focused on hearing, understanding, and responding to each senior's needs. The grounds are big enough for walking paths, gardens, patios, and rose bushes, and there's a main lodge and a Pavilion that are nice spots for sitting or joining group activities and daily events that are meant to keep everyone moving and social. There's a rustic feel with woodland views and a community garden that sometimes provides fresh things for the made-to-order breakfast in the dining room. They have a nurse on staff part-time, along with trained staff available around the clock, and they help with medication management and support for those who need help with daily living. The facility has 48 units and 60 beds, and can support up to 63 assisted living residents, with amenities like laundry, housekeeping, linen service, a library, a fitness room, and both indoor and outdoor common areas. Pet-friendly policies mean people can bring pets, and the staff includes care advisors and support specialists, while the Creative Living program encourages learning, activities, and engagement at any age. There are on-site religious services, access to a nurse 12 to 16 hours a day, a 24-hour call system, support for physician appointments, and programs made for memory care. The Twelve Oaks Foundation owns the land and the facility, which is managed by Northstar Management and is part of the ECS Senior Living Community. The community keeps a focus on quality, fulfillment, and the comfort of each person living there, with attention to providing affordable, nonprofit care for seniors in a relaxed, wooded neighborhood.
