    Beautiful property, great care, pricey

I chose this community for the beautiful, modern property - spacious, light-filled apartments, gorgeous gardens and high-end common areas (movie theater, salon, dining room, underground parking). The activities are nonstop (bingo, karaoke, exercise classes, outings, luau) and there's in-house PT, lots of social opportunities and friendly resident mixers. The dining and Chef Amy get high marks - overall food is very good, though we've noticed some inconsistent meals lately. Staff are warm, knowledgeable and caring; nurses and caregivers watch my mom closely and communication with family has generally been strong. Downsides: it's pricey with many add-ons, I've seen short-staffing and occasional management/ follow-through issues, limited visiting hours, and it may not be ideal for advanced dementia. Overall I feel safe and well cared for here, but budget-conscious families should ask detailed questions about staffing, dementia care and extra fees before committing.
