Loomis Home Care sits in a quiet Loomis, California neighborhood and runs as a small, family-owned assisted living care home with room for just six residents, which makes it pretty homelike and calm, and people often notice how the staff try to give lots of personal attention since they know each person well, and they aim to respect the dignity and rights of everyone who lives there. The place lets some pets come, with dogs and cats allowed, and if someone needs help caring for a pet the staff can help with that too. The rooms come in both memory care studios and semi-private options, and they're all fully furnished, with wheelchair accessible showers for easy use, and with both indoor and outdoor common areas, residents have spots to visit, relax, or join group meals and activities. The home is licensed by the State, and it's set up to accept adults who are age 55 or older, with a focus on seniors needing memory care or general daily help, and they offer care like help with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, medication management and transfers. Safety is a concern for them, so they use wander protection for anyone at risk of leaving unsafely, and the house has secure outdoor space with gardens, a large patio, and even a calming pond where people can spend time outside, including space where people who smoke can do so. The staff set up daily activities such as exercises, creative arts, baking, live music, holiday parties, and birthday celebrations, and folks can join offsite outings too, with complimentary transportation for doctor's appointments and other needs. Meals get prepared by their own chefs and are planned to fit dietary needs, so people with diabetes or other health conditions can get the food that suits them best, and the home can help with checking blood sugar or even giving insulin shots when needed. For medical care, Loomis Home Care hosts doctor and podiatrist visits on-site, which helps cut down on stressful trips out, and if hospice or extra support is needed, they're set up to arrange that too through home care and health services. People can choose private or semiprivate rooms based on what's available, and everything's fully furnished and ready for new folks moving in, and they run regular housekeeping and linen service so people don't have to worry about chores. The staff make efforts to keep everyone engaged and active, especially those with Alzheimer's and dementia, using structured programs designed to help residents stay sharp and socially connected, and the staff speak different languages including Romanian to better support all residents. The environment stays warm and friendly, focusing on kindness, independence, and support, and because there are only six residents, it's pretty quiet, with everyone getting a chance to participate in the group. Board and care, assisted living, memory care, and respite care are all offered there, and with its small size, home-like feeling, and community features, Loomis Home Care aims to provide comfort and peace of mind to both residents and their families.
Warm staff cold owner declined
I toured this clean, attractive, home-like community with a family atmosphere-friendly, knowledgeable staff who clearly go the extra mile, familiar routines, and a beautiful setting for aging in place. Despite the warm staff and residents, the owner came off cold and money-focused and I had compatibility concerns, so I decided not to proceed.
