    Nice facility but inconsistent care

I found the facility clean, orderly and well-maintained with friendly caregivers, nice indoor/outdoor common spaces, good meals and a lot of activities. However the private room was oddly configured and felt like a closet, and the price felt too high for the space. Care was inconsistent-basic feeding only at times, promised activities not always delivered, little interaction, poor family communication and staff ignored doctor recommendations. Overall a mixed experience: pleasant environment but serious gaps in care and communication.

    About Eilat's Manor

Eilat's Manor is a smaller assisted living and board and care home in Los Angeles with just six residents, giving folks a chance to know each other and get more personalized care, because sometimes that's what you want as you get older, a close-knit place where people know your name and what you need, and you don't have to worry about getting lost in the shuffle. You'll find round-the-clock supervision and a 24-hour call system, so there's always someone to help, whether it's getting dressed, taking medicine, or just making sure you're safe, and the building has central air and heat, a fenced outdoor patio, television, and a security alarm system, which means residents stay comfortable and secure day and night. The staff gives help with daily living needs like bathing, dressing, cleaning, and cooking, and they'll take care of laundry too, which means you can spend your time without fussing over chores.

They also help with different medical needs-so if someone needs help with diabetes, incontinence, early dementia, or even conditions like hypertension, the staff is there with dedicated care plans and reminders to take medicine at the right times, and if someone has a habit of wandering because of memory loss, there's a WanderGuard to prevent them from wandering off, which provides some peace of mind. Memory care services are set up for folks with Alzheimer's or dementia, aiming to reduce confusion and make sure no one goes missing. Special diets are an option if you need them, and meals are served every two hours with snacks in between, so you don't have to worry about going hungry or waiting long for food, and everyone gathers in the dining area, which feels warm and welcoming, and that makes mealtimes a bit of a community event. They also have salon services if someone likes to get their hair done, and there's a disability van to take residents to doctor's appointments.

Residents can join in daily scheduled activities like fitness classes and wellness groups, and there's music therapy twice a week, as well as movie nights, walking groups, and little gatherings for socializing or entertainment like picnics. Every room comes fully furnished, either private or semi-private, and each is designed for comfort and to be easy to move around in, with options for different apartment layouts, so folks can pick what suits them best. Couples and single folks can both live at Eilat's Manor, and they do respite care, which helps families who need a short break from caregiving. Staff always pays attention to what each person needs, making individual care plans and helping people feel at home while keeping their independence for as long as possible, and the whole place tries to make sure everyone feels they belong and aren't alone.

They handle transportation, organize social activities, and encourage folks to get involved, which helps keep minds and bodies active, and for families, knowing there's supervision and someone to help brings reassurance. While Eilat's Manor doesn't accept Medicare unless certified, it does offer long-term care options for those who need to stay a while, and being a licensed Residential Care Elderly facility in Los Angeles, it's designed to serve older adults who want support and an easy, comforting routine in their later years.
