Westside Manor gives seniors plenty of different care choices for living, with about 150 licensed beds in assisted living residences, and staff who know how to help older folks in daily life, whether that's moving around, taking medicine, or getting meals, and some people live in board and care homes right in a neighborhood with just a few others, so it's quieter. Westside Manor has what it calls "resident care services" and these include assisted living, skilled nursing care for those who have bigger health needs, and even options for independent living where maintenance isn't a worry and there are resort-style amenities and regular social activities. There's a memory care program that offers help to those with Alzheimer's or dementia, with staff giving 24-hour supervision, secure spaces, and activities that work on memory. Seniors who just need some support can use assisted living services, while people who need round-the-clock medical care, help with rehabilitation after an illness or surgery, or even wound care have skilled nursing available. If someone just needs a break for a bit, there's respite care for short stays. Residents can expect things like help with personal care, medication management, private rooms, and common areas so there's space to gather. If a special day comes, there are floral options for weddings, funerals, anniversaries, or even just to brighten up a room, and arrangements for ceremonies and receptions. The care staff at Westside Manor get specific training for helping older people and there are personalized care plans for every resident to fit their needs, which really covers almost every stage of aging, letting folks stay where they are even if their needs change.
Room fine, everything else unsafe
The room and board were fine, but my experience otherwise was poor: pickups were repeatedly delayed, often in an unmarked car that never arrived at the designated spot and staff communication/coordination was a mess - sometimes forcing pickups in heavy traffic. I also witnessed violent behavior and apparent drug activity that management seemed to tolerate, ownership discouraged complaints, and there's a harsh kick-out policy - I can't recommend it.
