    Calm comfortable professional hands-on care

I placed my father here for his final months and I'm grateful for the calm, comfortable care he received. The owner is wonderful and hands-on, the caregivers are professional, patient, cheerful and articulate, and the home is clean and freshly renovated. Meals were homestyle and comforting. Communication with the owner, nurses and MDs was clear and proactive - emergencies and hospital admissions were handled thoroughly, which really reduced our family's stress.

    About Allora Senior Living

Allora Senior Living in Mission Viejo, California, sits in a single-story residential house with a homey feel and supports no more than ten residents at once, so there's always someone around to help if you need it, and you get that one-to-three staff-to-resident ratio, which folks tend to like since the staff gets to know everyone pretty well, and the place itself is newly renovated, bright, and clean, with spacious private and semi-private rooms that come fully furnished and have their own bathrooms, air-conditioning, kitchenette options, internet, cable, and sometimes even telephones set up, so you've got things you need without fuss. It's an Adult Care Home, sometimes called Adult Foster, Personal Care, or Assisted Living Home depending on where you grew up, and it covers the main bases with personal care like medication management, meal prep using organic food, housekeeping, laundry, and basic help with daily activities, and if you or your loved one needs a little more, they also offer memory care if Alzheimer's is in the mix, independent living for folks who can manage on their own, and skilled nursing along with hospice if needs get more complex, and they'll help with home care and referrals too, kind of covering a lot of ground for a small place. They take good care of dietary needs-kosher, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, organic, and other requests get taken seriously, and meals come restaurant-style or whenever you're hungry, served in group settings so no one eats alone unless that's preferred, and both cats and dogs are welcome which is rare, and they even help with pet care if someone can't manage. The place has both outdoor and indoor common areas where residents gather for fitness, recreation, and social or educational activities, plus there's a beautician onsite and devotional events for folks who want them, and transportation is handled through resident parking or accompanied rides for a fee, even to public transit if someone needs it, along with help getting to doctor appointments and arranging rides elsewhere. The whole building's handicap accessible, so moving around with a walker, wheelchair, or cane isn't a big hassle, and staff are known for being helpful under pressure, with experience providing support during stressful or abnormal situations, keeping things safe and steady all day and night without being overbearing. Allora Senior Living is part of Allora Group, LLC, and offers continuing care, so as needs change, the type of help can be adjusted, and the focus is always on maintaining independence for residents while having support close by, and along the way, the staff's friendliness, attention to cleanliness, promptness with care, and warm approach help keep it feeling like home, which is probably what sets it apart even as it sticks to the basics and avoids anything fancy just for show.
