    Excellent care and peaceful facility

I'm extremely happy with the care my mother receives at Nikkei Gardens. The staff are attentive, kind, and communicative - nurses and caregivers learned her name quickly and supported her recovery. The facility is spotless, well-run, and bright with private apartments and a welcoming, active social scene. Meals are varied and delicious with both Japanese and Western options (occasionally served too cold), and there are abundant, well-organized activities that keep residents engaged. The Japanese gardens are beautiful but could use more frequent watering and landscape care. Overall five stars - excellent care and peace of mind.

    About Nikkei Senior Gardens

Nikkei Senior Gardens sits in a peaceful, landscaped area and provides a comfortable space for people aged 55 and older. The building holds 106 apartments, offering both studio and one-bedroom layouts, some with balconies or patios, and each unit has a private bathroom. The community honors Japanese heritage and traditions, which you can notice in the Japanese garden, tranquil walking paths, and a dining menu that serves both Japanese and American meals every day. Residents get care tailored to their needs through services like assisted living, memory care for people with dementia, respite care, skilled nursing, and independent living options. Caregivers and nurses are present throughout the day and night, supporting folks with tasks like bathing, dressing, mobility, and medication management, though staff can only help with monitoring blood sugar and can't give insulin shots. The friendly staff helps with personal care, wellness checks, and keeps a 24-hour call system for emergencies.

The place has many amenities, including a beautician and beauty salon onsite, air conditioning, a computer center, a dining room, a fitness room, a library, game room, and indoor and outdoor spaces for socializing. Residents join a wide range of activities, from gardening and tending fruit orchards, Tai Chi, yoga, and physical fitness classes to book clubs, arts and crafts, bridge, poker, bingo, Wii bowling, and outings twice a week. There's both religious and devotional support with offsite services, spiritual discussions, and a schedule of live music and events. People can ride community-operated transportation for doctor's appointments or errands, and community outings are regular. Housekeeping and laundry are taken care of, and there's help for non-ambulatory residents as well as those moving from bed to wheelchair. Common areas encourage people to connect, and day trips and resident-run activities make for a lively calendar.

Nikkei Senior Gardens uses unique names for some services and is known for keeping a nurturing, compassionate, and attentive atmosphere. Apartments come fully furnished, with Wi-Fi, television service, kitchenettes, and all have wheelchair-accessible showers. The grounds offer scenic landscaping, a beautiful Japanese garden, and walking paths for peaceful strolls, with safety supported by a security gate and staff always ready if needed. Meals are planned for taste and nutrition, and connected gardens give residents a chance to do a bit of gardening if they like. Languages spoken include English, and the community schedules tours for anyone who wants to learn more about daily life there. The center has received awards like Best of Senior Living and has a high resident satisfaction rating, but above all, the focus stays on offering steady care, connection, and respect for each resident's background.
