    About Sunshine House

Sunshine House, located at 1463 E. Dottie Lane in Paradise, California, is part of Sunshine Assisted Living, which runs two small communities called The House and The Cottage. Each home holds up to 17 residents, creating a family feel and a relaxed country setting with shade trees and flowers outside. Residents can choose private or shared rooms, with some studio layouts and kitchenettes, and everyone gets weekly housekeeping, all meals-some vegetarian and home-cooked by skilled chefs-and laundry services. Sunshine House offers assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, independent living, and short-term respite care, with an emphasis on helping people stay as independent as possible and make choices about their care. Trained staff provide 24-hour non-medical personal care, medication assistance, specialized incontinence care, and support for people with hearing, vision, and mobility difficulties. The showers are wheelchair accessible, and there are both indoor and outdoor spaces designed for wheelchairs, so residents can enjoy nature or relax inside in cozy social rooms or the dining area. There's a friendly staff including a beautician, hair stylists, and manicurists who visit for grooming and care, and there's always something to do, with activity coordinators running art classes, exercise sessions, game nights, ice cream socials, and group outings. The residents can bring small pets, make use of all utilities except phone, and enjoy special events and holiday feasts through the year. The grounds are kept up, building maintenance is managed, and residents can park on-site if needed. Sunshine House is licensed by the state, overseen by Interim Administrator Meryl Foz, and aims to be a "home away from home," where personal attention, patience, and a kind heart matter most and where everyone, whether they need extra help or have disabilities, can join community activities and make connections in a setting built for comfort and inclusion.
