    Beautiful campus, attentive staff, engaged

I live here and love the beautiful, well-kept campus with Sierra views, great amenities (pool, gym, cottages, dog park) and a steady calendar of activities. The staff are warm, professional and truly treat residents like family-memory care is attentive and residents seem happy and engaged. It's clean, safe and responsive, though it can be pricey/remote and I've noticed occasional dining or management hiccups.

    About Eskaton Village Placerville

Eskaton Village Placerville sits on a 64-acre site at 3380 Blairs Lane, right in the Sierra foothills and within walking distance of historic Placerville, and the community has a setting that feels peaceful and blends in with the countryside. Older adults can choose from several living options, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, short-term stays, and even home-based services for those who prefer to stay in their own homes but still need a little help. Nearly 50 patio-style rental cottages, some with the Livable Design Gold Seal of Approval, alongside comfortable lodge apartments with studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms, give residents options depending on what they need, and most homes have private bathrooms, kitchenette spaces with appliances like a microwave or a full-size fridge, and extra storage or closet space. Independent living folks can keep busy with hospitality-style amenities, such as housekeeping, transportation, and a wide range of activities and social programs, while assisted living residents get help with daily needs like bathing, dressing, and reminders about medicine, if they want it.

The Lodge offers assisted living, memory care, and short-term stays, so if health conditions change, residents can move to a different level of care without the disruption of leaving the community because Eskaton Village Placerville is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) with a full continuum of care all on one campus. There's specialized memory care using a person-centered approach, dedicated to those with Alzheimer's or dementia, all supervised by a licensed vocational nurse with over 20 years of experience in the memory care neighborhood, and skilled nursing services are available right on site for folks who need extra help and round-the-clock clinical support, whether for ongoing care or after an illness.

Residents can gather in shared spaces like community lounges, front entrance areas, game rooms, craft rooms, the library, and a bistro or café bar, and there's a dedicated dining program with tasty meals served daily, plus barrier-free showers for safety and comfort. Pets live here with residents, and there's high-speed internet and WiFi, so folks can keep up with family or visit during calls using technology that's meant to help with fall prevention and security, including smart home lighting through partnerships like K4Connect. Outdoor areas and landscaped grounds add a peaceful touch, so people can enjoy fresh air or take a walk, and you'll also find accessible restrooms, air conditioning, parking for visitors, and many options for recreation, wellness programs, and events.

Eskaton Village Placerville has a staff devoted to comfort and support, and there's always help on hand to answer questions. The team oversees personal services meant to encourage a relaxed lifestyle, like linen service and regular housekeeping, and there's affordable housing options and community outreach, too. Those who want to stay socially active can join activities, exercise programs, and even intergenerational programs like Kids Connection, where residents meet local kids, along with special community events such as Taste & Trivia scheduled for August 15, 2025. Safety and accessibility are a focus, with the community complying with WCAG 2.1 AA standards so everyone can get around easily.

Residents and visitors describe Eskaton Village Placerville as clean and well-cared for, with an environment that lets people enjoy both privacy and the companionship of friends and staff who pay close attention to their comfort. There's an online platform for reviews and feedback and a gallery for people to see what daily life looks like, and anyone interested can also take a virtual tour before visiting. There's a simple online assessment tool available for those wondering if senior living is the right fit, and a variety of programs and services tailored to different needs, from independent living to skilled nursing and everything in between, all aim to help residents feel at home and supported, whatever they need or whenever life changes.
