    Cozy attentive family-like care home

My mother has lived here for seven years and I couldn't be more grateful. The cozy six-bed home is spotless, safe and peaceful; the caring, attentive staff treat her with dignity, give personalized attention, and serve great home-cooked meals and activities. She's happy, well-groomed and healthy - I highly recommend this family-like, well-managed place.

    About Life Pastiche

Life Pastiche is a small, licensed care community in California for up to 6 residents, set in a quiet neighborhood that tries to feel comfortable and home-like with private and shared rooms you can personalize or bring your own furniture for, and there's always someone around since the staff stays awake 24 hours a day, with more than 70% certified as nursing assistants, plus two nurses on call all the time for extra medical help, and you'll often meet the owner, Rhonda Johnson, and Christian Fisher, who's the Director of Operations and a CNA himself. Folks living at Life Pastiche get help with things like bathing, dressing, hygiene, walking, and taking their medicine, and people who need more support, like memory care for dementia or Alzheimer's, can get that as well, with detailed care plans set up for each person alongside their families and doctors, and there's help with incontinence, wound care, occupational therapy, podiatry, and medication management including delivery. Food's made fresh three times a day with special meal plans when someone needs them for diabetes, hypertension or food allergies, with all-day dining and diet options like vegetarian, vegan, or other requests, and people can always join meals in a shared dining room. There's a strong focus on keeping the place safe, with emergency call buttons, alarms, smoke detectors, sprinklers, security cameras, and staff trained in First Aid and CPR, and there's also wheelchair help, handrails, walk-in showers, and all sorts of equipment from hospital beds to lift chairs. People who live there enjoy a steady routine with lots of daily activities, like music therapy, animal therapy, crafts, classes, tabletop games, movie nights, reading in the library, and trips to local places for shopping, appointments, or even spiritual services, and folks who like animals will notice outdoor chickens in the garden for company, though pets can come too for a fee and with some rules. Life Pastiche welcomes short-term respite stays if someone just needs care for a little while or when families need a break, and when needed, the staff works closely with hospice care so people are comfortable and supported during serious illness, both medically and spiritually. There's a visiting mobile hairdresser for haircuts, and cleaning's handled with weekly laundry, linen changes, and housekeeping plus toiletries like soap and shampoo included, but extra cleaning can be arranged. Tech amenities include Wi-Fi, cable TV, Hulu, and Netflix, and rooms have phones and furnishings, while the whole place is kept up by maintenance staff. Transportation for outings, appointments, or social trips is available, though there could be an extra fee, and guest parking is on-site for visitors. Wellness is supported with fitness activities, a jacuzzi, a steam room, walking paths, yard spaces, community gardens, and a salon and barber shop. Staff can help with all parts of daily life, from showering to dressing to going to the bathroom and getting around, and there are structured social, educational, and fitness programs every week, as well as music and art activities, reading rooms, game rooms, evening events, and planned community gatherings to keep everyone involved. Life Pastiche is pet-friendly within their guidelines, offers board and care home services as well as assisted living, and is careful about safety and state licensing, following all requirements under certification ID 455001891. You'll find a quieter life here, set up for a small number of people with more personal attention, staff ready to help, and plenty of comforts meant to make each day safe, connected, and as easy as possible for older adults.
