    Caring staff but understaffed facility

I appreciate the wonderful, caring staff and found the facility clean with pretty good food. However, it's clearly understaffed with too many residents and limited activities.

    About Mayflower Guest Home II

Mayflower Guest Home II sits in Riverside, California, in a quiet residential neighborhood, offering care for seniors who need daily help or memory support, and what you'll find here is a small, homelike setting meant for up to fifteen people, with both private and semi-private rooms available, some with kitchenettes, all fully furnished for comfort and ease, and there's a strong focus on building a sense of community so folks often get to know each other well, sharing daily meals-three homemade dishes every day, tailored for special diets like diabetes or high blood pressure if needed-and joining in regular activities, from board games and movies to music programs and outside trips, and sometimes animal or music therapy comes in too, with a whole calendar of events aimed at keeping people as active and engaged as they feel up to, and always a helping hand nearby since the staff offers around-the-clock supervision and support for things like bathing, dressing, incontinence, using the bathroom, or managing medications, plus there's diabetic care, non-ambulatory care, and even short-term respite stays for those who need a break, and if a resident needs more hands-on help, like for two-person transfers or insulin injections, those are sometimes arranged with extra staff, and while privacy and independence are respected, assistance is given as needed, with community areas like lounges, an outdoor space, a book room, a dedicated health room, sauna, and even a hairdresser or salon, and when there's a doctor's appointment or a faith service, transportation can be arranged, so people don't feel cut off from what matters, and the facility's licensed as a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) with the state under license #336400004, and it's been open since 2007, operating under California rules for safety and care, and you'll see a structured yet flexible approach, since the staff gets to know each resident's needs and works to keep dignity and respect at the center, whether it's helping out of the bath or keeping up with favorite games, all in a cozy, settled atmosphere where deeper connections can grow between residents and caregivers over time, and the emphasis is on each person keeping as much independence as possible, while having the support and resources nearby, including access to health services, assistive devices, a wellness program, and community links for a well-rounded living experience.
