    Compassionate, patient, family-like dementia care

I placed my grandfather here and couldn't be more grateful. The staff are compassionate, patient, and treated him like family - exceptional with dementia and end-of-life care while keeping us informed and involved. The home is spotless, safe, cheerful, and well-organized; residents are genuinely loved. I highly recommend taking a tour.

    About Amethyst Grove Assisted Living

Amethyst Grove Assisted Living sits in Roseville, California, within Placer County, as a single-story residential care home for the elderly that's licensed by the state. The facility has a close-knit feel with room for six residents, so people get to know each other, and staff can pay close attention to everyone's needs. Assisted living, independent living, memory care, and nursing home services are all available, which means residents needing different levels of care can usually stay as their needs change. Staff help with personal care like bathing, dressing, walking, toileting, medication support, and reminders, and they focus on making the move-in process as easy and comfortable as possible for new residents. People can recover from illnesses here, too, because they have nurses, wound care, occupational therapy, and other healthcare services, like podiatry, plus memory care staff who're trained to work with residents with Alzheimer's or dementia.

The building offers safety and accessibility with features like handrails, safety rails, an emergency alert system, and a sprinkler system, so residents and families know someone's looking out for them. Rooms can be private or semi-private and come furnished, with options for studio, single, or two-bedroom apartments, and there's housekeeping, laundry, kitchens or kitchenettes, cable TV, and WiFi, which makes it more comfortable for daily living. Residents get home-cooked meals, snacks, and all-day dining, taking dietary needs like allergies and diabetes into account, and someone always prepares meals and coordinates nutritional support.

Amethyst Grove has walking paths, garden spaces, and regular community activities, like movie nights, arts and crafts, educational programs, and fitness opportunities, plus scheduled transportation for outings or appointments, so people stay active and social if they want to. There's a village center where residents can join in things like virtual trips and group hobbies, and they offer general counseling and respite programs for families who need a short break. The care team works alongside residents and families to make personalized care plans, with lots of detail on available services, waiting lists, and move-in steps, so it's clear what to expect. There's always supervision, including 24-hour staff for memory care and help for those with mild cognitive impairment or trouble getting around, and the atmosphere's meant to be safe and supportive, rather than busy or overwhelming. Community areas include a dining room, garden, game rooms, a movie area, and a fitness center, as well as a salon and guest parking, so it feels like a real home for most people, not just an institution. The facility has a community score of 5.2 out of 10, according to Seniorly's own rating system, which gives families another piece of information to think about when comparing options.
