Golden Home on 7710 Elsie Avenue in Sacramento, California, is a small assisted living community with room for up to six seniors, and folks like it because it's quiet and homey instead of being a big, busy place, which matters some days because peace and comfort get real important as you get older, and the staff are friendly, trained, and available round the clock to help with activities like bathing, dressing, medication management, and even things like grooming or getting a haircut from a mobile hairdresser who'll come by, so residents don't have to worry about those things. The facility has a focus on care for people with different health needs, including assisted living services for those who need help with daily tasks, memory care for folks with cognitive concerns, support for high acuity and diabetic care, plus skilled nursing and independent living for those who need a little or a lot of help, and even hospice and respite care for short-term or end-of-life needs, which can make a big difference for families. You'll see they have wheelchair accessible showers and private bathrooms, and every room comes fully furnished, with choices between private suites or shared rooms to match individual needs, while kitchenettes and maintenance-free living mean residents don't have to worry about cooking or cleaning since housekeeping, linen, and organic meal preparation are all taken care of, with three homemade meals served daily and special diets offered for things like high blood pressure or diabetes. The setup makes it easy to feel at home, with air conditioning, telephone, internet, and cable in rooms, a book room for quiet reading, a hot tub and steam room for wellness, a beauty shop, garden areas for time outdoors, and even game rooms and social nights so folks can stay active and connected, plus scheduled movies, music, and creative activities, and transport for appointments and errands, all managed with personalized care plans built around every resident's needs and preferences. They also provide activities like animal therapy, board games, music therapy, and outdoor relaxation, which help boost well-being along with exercise programs offered throughout the week, and help is always close by thanks to the 24-hour call system, while transportation is available to take residents to doctor visits, errands, or even spiritual gatherings, making life a bit easier. Golden Home keeps things comfortable and safe, with features for those with mobility and hygiene needs, attentive medication supervision, and incontinence care, so seniors can live as independently as possible with dignity, and the staff focus on supporting caregivers and helping each person maintain connections with their community. There's parking for residents, and even a little bar area offering craft cocktails and snacks for social evenings, round out a relaxed environment, where the emphasis is on comfort, dignity, and day-to-day support rather than fancy extras or a clinical feel.
Paid thousands, loved one died
I paid $6,000/month and got neglect. My loved one had an ignored UTI, developed stage II pressure sores and later died. Staff gave inappropriate psychiatric meds, kept them restrained to a wheelchair, ignored our concerns, and served poor meals (hot dogs and chips). I would not recommend.
