    Tailored compassionate care, excellent communication

    I cared for my father here for over two years during his dementia, and the tailored, attentive care from compassionate, professional caregivers made his last days much better. The facility is spotless, beautifully decorated, comfortable and safe, with a welcoming, family-like staff and no visiting restrictions. Communication was excellent - texts, photos and videos and consistent 24/7 updates from Vicky and the leadership team gave us constant reassurance. I highly recommend this place.

    Happy Journey at Stansberry sits on Stansberry Way in Sacramento and offers a small, comfortable home with space for up to six residents, so folks get to know one another in a quiet and personal setting. The staff-including caregivers, licensed vocational nurses, med-techs, and nurses-stay awake and on duty at all hours to help with bathing, grooming, transfers, and medication, making sure each person gets the specific care that fits their needs, whether assisted living, memory care, or short-term respite. Meals are cooked-to-order or served as plated meals, with special dietary needs like diabetes or allergies taken seriously, and sometimes tray service comes right to the room if needed or wanted. The rooms are furnished and wheelchair accessible, with telephones hooked up, and everyone's got access to cable and Wi-Fi, housekeeping, and linen service. Residents spend time together in the community dining room, the activity room, or the backyard garden, sometimes listening to the piano or watching a movie during one of their movie nights, and other times taking part in board games, music therapy, pet therapy, walking outside, or going on trips in the community van for shopping, doctor's appointments, or religious services. There's always help with daily needs, and plenty of attention from staff who call residents family and treat them with care you'd expect at home. Happy Journey also works with healthcare providers, handling therapies such as speech, physical, or occupational, and even oxygen management, arranging transportation when appointments come up.
