    Caring, clean, safe Alzheimer's care

I'm extremely pleased with this small, inviting facility - the staff are caring, consistent, and knowledgeable about Alzheimer's and sundowning, calmly managing aggression and improving safety. It's clean inside and out, full of activities, music, flowers and little extras, with good meals and regular family updates; the owner and caregivers communicate directly and showed real patience and compassion. Not perfect, but it exceeded my expectations.

About The Meadows at Country Place

The Meadows at Country Place sits in Sacramento's Pocket-Greenhaven area, just across from Eskaton Nursing Home and about a hundred yards from Lake Greenhaven Park, which gives folks a nice outdoor spot to visit when the weather's good, and there's even a city park in the backyard that's handy for strolls or visiting with family. The building has room for up to 34 residents with choices that include studio, single, and two-bedroom units, and depending on the rooms you can get things like a kitchen or kitchenette, washer and dryer, cable TV, Wi-Fi, plus safety and accessibility features all set up. Staff stay on-site and available around the clock, and they help with a lot, from medication management and health monitoring to getting dressed or washed up in the morning, whatever's needed, and some residents get extra support like incontinence care, diabetic care, wheelchair help, hospice assistance, or recovery care after surgery. If someone's got memory troubles, like Alzheimer's or dementia, caregivers create personalized plans, making sure folks stay safe, get their meals, enjoy familiar activities in a calm setting, and have features for privacy and dignity.

Meals get served daily with a professional chef who's careful about nutrition and special diets, plus there's a dining room for group meals, guest meals, and room service if someone needs to stay in. The property offers a bunch of amenities, including a garden and arts room, theater room, fitness center, game room, and a salon and barbershop on-site for haircuts or grooming, which everyone appreciates, and housekeeping and laundry are always part of the deal. Folks can join in on outings to places around town-shopping, community events, leisure trips-since there's transportation for errands or doctor visits too. Social events, wellness activities, exercise classes, arts and crafts, and other programs run regularly with special attention to what's safe for memory care residents versus more independent folks, and you'll always find ways to stay connected, whether it's community events, caregiver forums, or just having a friendly face nearby.

The Meadows at Country Place focuses on giving care with dignity, respect, and compassion, especially if you're living with health challenges like stroke, Parkinson's, dementia, or something more complex, and if your needs change, staff update care to fit the new situation. They keep a smaller setting, which helps things feel more like home and means it's less overwhelming or crowded, and the place makes it easy to keep up with family or get help when you need it. The move-in process starts with consultations or assessments, and there are policies for waiting lists and family visits-just call ahead and give your loved one's name to set up a visit. The facility is licensed by the state of California (license #347004702), and though every place has its challenges, this one tries to keep things simple, comfortable, and safe, especially if you need ongoing or specialized care.
